Stone Cold Podcast Reax - 8/3/15, Hogan makes public appearance, more Piper memories, legends battling health concerns, Ryback update, Piper funeral set, another top TNA name at GFW, Ziggler-WWE update, WWE night at site of ROH show, Cena update, HoFer at Raw, big match teased for Summerslam, and Questions on Cena's injury, inducting Heyman into the HoF, Ambrose as champion, headlining WM28, and pushing Punk in 2011

Stone Cold Podcast:
- Paige's mom took bumps when she was seven months pregnant!? That's insane!

- Going blind for six months from a dropkick is pretty intense. Damn.

- I hope the scoliosis doesn't affect her too badly. I wonder what they can do to help with that.

- It can't imagine Paige trying to fit the stereotypical Diva mold.

- Dusty Rhodes was crazy, but knew what he was teaching with promos.

- Paige having to work through those injuries is really crazy.

- Emma has really been underutilized on the main roster. She and Summer Rae could do so much more as wrestlers.

- Paige has some really big goals. I hope she achieves at least some of those. I'm split on the "Diva" name since it's such a big part of branding.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Hulk Hogan appeared for a Chicago signing appearance as advertised. Hopefully he doesn't get entirely buried by the recent events in his life.

Jim Ross remembered Roddy Piper as part of a blog post. I really hope we get something more with Rousey at WM32.

Jimmy Snuka had surgery following being diagnosed with stomach cancer. That sounds really rough. I hope he pulls through OK.

Ryback gave an update on his staph infection. He's still on the shelf. I hope we don't see yet another vacancy of the IC Title while he recovers.

Roddy Piper will be laid to rest in Portland, Oregon on August 12, the day after WWE tapes Smackdown in the area. I imagine quite a few superstars will be there.

High-flying wrestling legend Jerry Lynn is seeking help paying for extensive surgeries from years of bumps. Guys like Lynn laid the groundwork for many of the top high-flying guys today.

Jeff Hardy will be part of an upcoming GFW live event, replacing Kevin Nash following a scheduling conflict on the latter's end. I think it's beneficial for both TNA and GFW for them to work together instead of one side trying to put the other one out of business.

SI.com and FightNetwork.com talked to a number of wrestling legends about Roddy Piper memories. Lots of great looks back at the Hot Rod this past week.

PWInsider.com also took a trip down Hot Rod Memory Lane. He was a big influence to those involved with the site, to say the least.

WWE has officially announced the movie Dolph Ziggler is filming alongside Kane, which will hopefully put an end to the rumors of him leaving for TNA/ROH/LU/NJPW.

The Brooklyn Cyclones, who will be hosting an ROH event the night before Summerslam, will have a "WWE Night" that preceding Wednesday with Ryback, Charlotte, Eva Marie, and Fandango on hand. The team had worked with TNA in previous years, so it seems like they're pretty "equal opportunity" as far as whom they'll work with.

ROH put together a video tribute for Roddy Piper. That was pretty cool. Piper was one hell of a guy.

John Cena is hitting the gym hard despite his broken nose. This kind of attitude is why Vince loves him so much.

Ted DiBiase, Sr. was backstage at Raw. There was speculation he'd be part of an angle, but obviously nothing came of it.

Madison Square Garden paid tribute to Roddy Piper. That's really cool.

Seth Rollins vs. John Cena in a title vs. title match was set up for Summerslam, but is not official at this time. Rollins holding both titles, at least temporarily, would be pretty cool. I'd be surprised if they actually had it happen, though.

Here's WWE's tribute to Roddy Piper. As great as these are, I hope they don't have to make any more anytime soon.

Vince McMahon and Triple H stayed on the stage at Raw to watch the tribute package as the rest of the roster headed backstage following the ten-bell salute.

Maryland Championship Wrestling posted what ended up being the final Piper's Pit. Often imitated, never duplicated.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think had they brought him in, people would have expected him to do more than just appear. So it's probably good they kept him at home.

2. I would have said Dreamer, but I can't argue with either of their picks. Preferably it should be someone who's known him for years. Maybe even Stephanie McMahon given the history they've had behind the scenes. She could give a balance to the rosy picture others would paint.

3. I also hate those kinds of title reigns. They needed to protect Rollins as much as possible. So, no.

4. Rock vs. Cena was a much bigger deal than Punk vs. Jericho. It had been built up for longer and Rock hadn't wrestled at Mania since a handicap match at WMXX. I honestly think some of the fans would have left after what was obviously the biggest match of the card, beating the traffic.

5. Given the kind of stars they gravitate to today, I think Punk was trailblazer. I think they had doubts about how long he was going to stick around, and he probably butted heads with them more than Cena did, but they absolutely could have used him a good deal better. They took the hottest thing wrestling had seen in years and parlayed it into a fucking Kevin Nash feud that had already been done in 2003. They also threw Miz and R-Truth under a bus when they were doing big things. It was ridiculous.

More wrestling tomorrow.
