New Japan Cup result, assorted wrestling press, wrestling venue imploded, Smackdown audience, Dark lineup, SDCC updates, Interviews with Edge/Keith Lee, Tito discusses WWEPC visit, AEW charity, Baker injured, Jericho in CMLL video, and Questions on the TNA Title vs. the FTW Title, guitar shots, and the many faces on Doink

The New Japan Cup was won by EVIL, who then left LIJ for Bullet Club. That certainly changes things in NJPW.

Hamilton's James Monroe Iglehart discussed wrestling on UpUpDownDown.

Longtime wrestling venue Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan has been imploded. This was the site of Summerslam 1993, World War 3 1997 and 1998, Slammiversary 2009, multiple Nitro tapings, and a number of WWE live events.

Smackdown drew 1.91 million viewers this week, rebounding from last week's holiday weekend low.

Dark has announced:
- Brian Cage vs. Brian Pillman, Jr. for the FTW Championship
- Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy vs. Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler
- Marko Stunt vs. Michael Nakazawa
- Brandi Rhodes and Allie vs. Diamante and Rache Chanel
- Ricky Starks vs. Robert Anthony
- Luther and Serpentico vs. Pineapple Pete and Brady Pierce

San Diego Comic Con will have a virtual lucha libre panel with Rey Mysterio, CMLL's CEO, and the owner of the Mexican Museum of Lucha Libre.

WWE and Mattel will have a San Diego Comic Con virtual panel with Edge, Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, and Rhea Ripley. Sam Roberts will moderate.

NXT UK's Amir Jordan announced his marriage.

Edge discussed his injury and more:
- We'll see what he's still able to do when he's cleared to return.

- I like his reasoning of working with Randy.

- It will be very interesting to see him work with younger talents he hasn't competed with before.

- Fascinating talk about Mania.

Vince McMahon's mother turned 100 (!)

Keith Lee spoke to Bleacher Report after Great American Bash. I kind of want to see Keith Lee vs. Triple H after seeing Lee was an extra in 2009.

Edge discussed AEW and more when promoting his new movie.

Tito Ortiz discussed training at the WWE Performance Center.

AEW has a Fight For The Fallen T-shirt to help a local COVID-19 charity.

Britt Baker needed nose surgery after Dynamite. Wow. It's been a rough stretch for her.

Chris Jericho tributed Paco Alonso in CMLL. Great to see.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Obviously the timing makes the angles look similar, but there is a difference between Moose bringing back a company's former world championship and Taz bringing back his own former title.

Nothing to add to 2 or 4.

3. I definitely think it would be much worse if the strings were tight enough to actually play on!

5. I would assume the only "official" Doinks would be the ones who played that character in WWE, since that company came up with the gimmick. That said, I expect there are still going to be Doinks when indies start running again.

More wrestling coming tomorrow.
