Jersey Shore alum to wrestle, Questions on Punk-Orton, The Rock, the NWA, TNA's youth movement (or lack thereof), and Cena headlining Mania, Bart Scott, Shad Gaspard, and NXT updates, TNA House show notes, Victory Road matches made, funny pic from C.M. Punk, Smackdown rating, and an ex-WWE and TNA wrestler at Raw

Angelina of "Jersey Shore" is now enrolled in a wrestling school. How dumb will a lot of us feel if she ends up becoming the female version of The Miz? I'm not saying that it's going to happen, but don't count it out. It will take a lot of hard work, and I'm skeptical, but it's possible. She wrestles this week on Impact.

On to PWInsider.com's questions for today: I definitely think that we'll see Punk and Orton one-on-one at Mania. If we do see a tag match involving the New Nexus, it'll be on Raw sometime in the weeks before the event.

Yes and yes on Question 2. Then again, people were saying we'd get an all WCW-class this year and that isn't happened.

After the break, my thoughts on using the NWA name in this day and age.

It's actually funny that someone sent in this question, because I was just thinking about how irrelevant they are in 2011. Colt Cabana just won their World Championship and I was wondering if it should even still count as that. If it wasn't for their history, I don't even think I'd consider it. To me, it's not "what have you done" but "what have you done lately". I count the reigns from back "in the day" with Ric Flair and Harley Race and the like, and the TNA days as well, but the current NWA name hardly means anything to modern wrestling fans (unless they're well-versed in wrestling history).

On to a question about TNA's up-and-coming stars. I'd definitely like to see them be used better, but you can't just put those younger guys at the top of the card overnight and expect the casual fans to accept it. The Impact Zone fans and the IWC might love those names, but your average wrestling fan isn't ready to accept some of them as at the same level as the ex-WWE guys and names they're used to.

It takes time to build new stars. I know that a lot of online fans (me included) are ready for a change in TNA, but I think it might be too risky to just eliminate all the older guys when they can still be used in roles to help the younger guys along. They should be used like WWE's veterans (mostly) are as the younger guys continue to improve and the fans continue to get used to them as legitimate threats.

To summarize, the younger guys should be pushed better, but they shouldn't be pushed too much too quickly.

On to another question I don't think many will like my answer to. While John Morrison and C.M. Punk are fantastic athletes and did indeed work hard in the Elimination Chamber, here's the thing: the best worker isn't necessarily the top draw. WWE is likely to make more money off of an established main eventer like Cena headlining WrestleMania than someone that they aren't as sure on yet. I like Morrison and Punk (and R-Truth for that matter), but I don't think that any of them vs. The Miz is a WrestleMania level WWE Title match. They haven't been built up to that level yet. I want all three of them to continue to be in and around main event level, and if this wasn't WrestleMania, I'd be fine with Morrison and/or R-Truth in the Title match (Punk's a heel, so it wouldn't make sense to have him go against Miz). But for an event this big, Cena's the guy to go with.

As for the shots at Cena, he deserves it because of the amount of money that he makes for WWE, and he's not being "shoved down our throats" when he's WWE's top merchandise seller. Comments like that are why WWE doesn't take IWC opinion too seriously.

Ok, on to less angering things: Bart Scott has said that his involvement in TNA isn't a violation of his NFL contract as some have speculated.

TNA has a video hyping his appearance for the company here. Well done, and one of the few times their documentary-style camera work has made sense.

TNA is running house shows in the New York area, but interestingly not using local star Tommy Dreamer. I'm not a big Dreamer fan, but that is a little odd since he's under contract and lives in the area. He's been used in an agent role recently, so maybe they're phasing him out of the ring.

Talk about segues. Tommy Dreamer vs. Brother Ray has been added to this Sunday's Victory Road. Also, Matt Morgan will face Hernandez in a First Blood match, Angelina Love and Winter will defend their Tag Team Titles against Sarita and Rosita, and there will be an Ultimate X match for the X-Division Title between Kazarian, Robbie E, Max Buck, and Jeremy Buck. This would have been a good line-up to promote in advance. The only other match that's been officially announced is Beer Money vs. Ink, Inc. for the (other set of) Tag Team Titles.

I don't know if C.M. Punk made this or not, but he sent it to John Cena on Twitter. Pretty funny if you ask me. That image (with editable text) is a pretty popular one online. Just look up "The Rock Driving" if you don't believe me.

Here's a video from TMZ.com of Shad Gaspard's recent arrest. If things are as the video suggests, then this situation is total BS. Did they really need that many cops to control a non-resisting, unarmed, handcuffed man? There are two sides to every story, and I really hope this isn't what it looks like.

Update: Here's the Columbus Police Department's response to TMZ. There are multiple witnesses who disagree with their side of the story. I hope this matter gets settled and we get to the bottom of who was really at fault here.

Update: Here's another video of the incident in question, picking up where the first leaves off. I'll leave the race implications for someone else to discuss, but this is definitely a story worth following.

Smackdown did a 2.0 rating this past Friday. Still better than they're used to. I hope the rating continues to do well, and that once the WrestleMania buzz dies down it doesn't drop too much.

There will likely be changes to Season 5 of NXT. A line-up is still unknown as of this writing.

WWE's Vance Archer, known in TNA by his real name Lance Hoyt, was backstage at Raw. He lives in Dallas, so it could very well have just been a visit.

That's all for tonight. More news to come after midnight tomorrow.
