Raw thoughts- 3/28/11

It's the last Raw before WrestleMania. The Rock is in Chicago live, in the ring confronting both John Cena and The Mix before their WWE Championship match on Sunday. Also, Triple H and The Undertaker meet face-to-face 6 nights before The Streak is on the line. Read on for my thoughts on this major edition of Raw.

C.M. Punk starts Raw in his hometown. Nice. His promo was also nice. And someone on Twitter said he couldn't get booed in his hometown!

Orton got to Punk, but Punk still laid him out. Nice.

Ha. That "Del Rio and Edge can't touch" stipulation didn't last long. I guess that explanation makes more sense than "only Christian can face Del Rio and only Brodus can face Edge".

Well there's what Christian and Clay will be up to on Sunday. I still hope we don't get a Christian heel turn, but I have this sneaking suspicion that it COULD happen.

Nice continuance of the World Title feud.

Stone Cold's going to take the contestants to their limits... and maybe even further than that.

It took until 6 days before the show until we officially got the match this feud was leading to. Kind of sloppy. I get the feeling that they didn't know if they were going to include Santino and Kozlov until recently.

Weird direction to go with Kane's character. They've dropped the ball a bit with this feud.

Why they didn't advertise Michaels' appearance beforehand is beyond me. There are surprises and there are missed opportunities.

Triple H continues to sound like this is the last we'll see of him.

Nice use of Michaels, and a good segment between these guys. Kind of a weird ending, though. I wonder if HBK will be in the match in any way. He'll certainly be in attendance.

King vs. Swagger? I didn't really see that one coming. It worked though. They've booked this one pretty well.

Vickie doing Morrison's entrance was a great heel move. And she really has lost a good deal of weight.

Dolph and Sheamus vs. Morrison and Bryan- combining two Mania matches (sort of). Booking 101, because it's effective at getting over both programs at once.

I hope Morrison, Sheamus, and Ziggler all have good futures after Mania. Without (presumably) Rock, HHH, and Taker, it'll hopefully be their times to be above the glass ceiling again.

Another cool TE promo.

I wonder if Snooki could take on any of the Tough Enough cast?

Awful toss back to the bar from Josh Mathews. That was unbelievable to say the least. That brawl wasn't great either.

Nice motivational speech by The Rock.

Cena worked the crowd well as he usually does.

The Chicago crowd is anti-Cena as they've been before, but The Rock's appearance made them even more vocal.

I like Miz having the upside-down microphone logo. His promo is solid.

Heck of an ending to the show, and a great set-up to what I see happening on Sunday.

And that's a wrap. More thoughts to come on NXT tomorrow.
