Raw dark match, WWE focus group, new wrestling book out, Questions on Morrison/Ziggler, books on female wrestlers, DVDs on feuds, and Mickie James' music career, note on next week's Smackdown, new WWE Studios deal with Wal-Mart, WWE closes outside venture, new character for WWE star, final WWE Hall of Famers, Khali on NBC show, Raw ratings, Smackdown dark match, and a Jeff Hardy update

The dark match before Raw was R-Truth going over Zack Ryder.

Some fans who purchased tickets to AXXESS have been invited to a discussion as a WWE focus group to discuss what they do and don't like about the current WWE product. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to have that opportunity!

Here's an article on Dirty Dutch Mantell's upcoming book. I'm really looking forward to reading what he's written.

Up next is a look at PWInsider.com's questions. First, has WWE dropped the ball on John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler heading into WrestleMania? My answer to this and more questions, plus a lot more news, is after the break.

WWE's in a bit of a tough spot going into WrestleMania. There are a lot of people they want to be important on the show. After Triple H, Undertaker, Cena, Edge, Miz, Del Rio, Rey Mysterio, etc. are put in the top spots, the people who haven't been pushed as big or as long have to settle for lower spots on the card. I like Morrsion and Ziggler, and want to see them move up the card, but WWE has other people who are (understandably) higher priorities at the moment. That being said, if they didn't like them as talents I don't think they'd use them in their "mainstream publicity" slot on the card. I wouldn't look at it as a dropped push so much as one that's not as big as the others on the show. The match is a bit thrown together, but like I said they had to take care of the top players first.

I don't have anything to add to the answer to the second question, but I think a Sunny book could be pretty interesting. I've said this a lot, but I really need to get on my "wrestling books to read" list sooner rather than later.

I also really like the idea of having a DVD on a specific feud. WWE's doing one on Rock vs. Austin, which is a heck of a start. How have more people not thought of this sooner? As far as recent-ish feuds, Cena had some big ones with Orton and Edge I can see WWE doing a DVD on. I think I'd have to start with Hogan and Andre. It just "fits" as the first one to do.

As far as Mickie James working TNA so much with her music career and all, she's still in the early stages of it. So for right now, I expect her to work TNA's somewhat more lenient schedule while that part of her career possibly  continues to grow.

Not surprisingly, next week's Smackdown will be of a similar format as in years past (mostly video packages and things taped from AXXESS). I'm perfectly fine with that. They need to push WrestleMania hard that last show, and there's plenty to push.

Wal-mart has signed a deal to be the exclusive place to buy offerings from WWE Studios. If that makes money for both sides, I'm all for it.

WWE Niagara Falls is closing down at the end of the month. It's already mostly cleared out. I don't remember what all they had there, but apparently it wasn't too successful.

In other business news, WWE signed a deal to begin delivering their TV shows via digital content instead of their previous disc-based methods. A lot of their older footage is being/has been redone in digital form, so they continue to move into the future here.

Husky Harris has been given a new character. He is now wrestling under a mask in FCW as Ax Mulligan. His grandfather is WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Mulligan. I think that he's a good wrestler who can become a great one in time.

The last members of this year's WWE Hall of Fame class are expected to be The Road Warriors. Awesome.

The Great Khali will be on NBC's "Outsourced" this week. That makes sense.

WWE Raw did a 3.3 rating, dropping off a bit on the Road to WrestleMania. It'll almost certainly rebound next week though.

Trent Barreta beat Curt Hawkins before Smackdown was taped Tuesday night. They had to make room for all those video packages on Superstars obviously.

Finally, Jeff Hardy is no longer listed as appearing at a fan interaction before Lockdown. That interaction is 4 days before his next court date. Good move by TNA. He shouldn't appear there until after said court date determines his future.

That's all the news for today. More tomorrow.
