TNA Victory Road Preview

Read on for how I would book this Sunday's PPV!
A few disclaimers before I start: To me, This event is mostly about setting up for the big Lockdown PPV.  Also note that I'm not one to change things rapidly overnight, so consider this just one step in how I'd alter the company. Finally, these aren't necessarily the order I'd book these matches and events in. Just the order that I think of them.

The Jarretts go on their honeymoon in Universal Studios (or wherever they said it would be), and we catch up with them at numerous times throughout the show. At first they're relaxed, but eventually they get paranoid that Kurt will show up. So much so that Jeff attacks a similar-looking bystander in an Angle shirt. When he does this, a disguised Kurt attacks, then takes off his disguise. Then he runs Karen off.

I think that they insinuated that D'Angelo Dinero would do something with Samoa Joe on the show, so that's next on the list: Joe and Okato wait in the parking lot for him. Pope shows up smiling and unworried, saying he has some of Joe's "old friends" with him. Cue the ninjas from the unsolved kidnapping angle, who take Joe and Okato out, then put them in their van. It's kind of a stretch to link the two stories, but I think it's better to finally explain an angle that wasn't explained (that's still fairly fresh in people's minds).

On to matches: Love and Winter retain their titles. Cookie tries to interfere to take out Winter, but Velvet Sky makes sure that doesn't happen. The uneasy truce continues between Winter and Sky.

Kazarian wins Ultimate X. Robbie E is worried because of what happened with Cookie, and his head isn't 100% in the game. Generation Me blames themselves and each other for not getting the job done, continuing the road to their breakup. Footage "after the PPV" to be shown on Impact has them in a shoving match.

Hernandez beats Matt Morgan pretty heavily in their first blood match, using a shiv he sneaks in in his boot. Obviously they need to be careful with that part and use a blade for the actual blood if need be. Actually, save that ending for their rematch at Lockdown. Hernandez can lock himself and his opponent in where he can't be stopped by the refs for a while (until they get bolt-cutters). For this show, Hernandez wraps Morgan's head (and neck) in a chair and rams it into a steel post for the win. Morgan needs some time to recover his voice after this, but eventually gets the OK for Lockdown.

AJ Styles beats Matt Hardy, then Hardy and Flair attack him.

Bully Ray does some serious damage to Tommy Dreamer in their match for getting involved in the feud with Devon. I really think that Ray, Devon, and Dreamer are pretty much out of things to do in the wrestling business. They need to be used more sparingly. That starts here. Dreamer then tries to play peacemaker a bit with the brothers, but it backfires and he's taken out in the crossfire. (Keep him off TV at least a week to sell the beating and for him to "collect his thoughts" on the situation. Then advertise him a week in advance.) This leads to Devon vs. Ray at Lockdown. I don't know whether to throw a table stipulation into that one or not. Maybe after Devon wins, he and his sons can put Ray through one to end the feud (for then at least). Then we get a break from these guys.

For the tag team title match, before the bell rings, have Eric Bischoff come out and interrupt. He would then go on to say that he calls the shots around TNA, and he didn't sign off on that match, so it's canceled. But, because he "believes in giving the fans what they want", he has new challengers for Beer Money: Gunner and Murphy. He pats them on the back and shakes their hands, saying to "knock 'em dead, boys". He slips one (or both) brass knuckles, which leads to them winning the titles.

Jeff Hardy takes out Anderson with a chair in the #1 Contendership match. RVD won't see this, and thus won't have a problem taking advantage of the fact by winning via Frog Splash. There should be at least one match between this and the main event.

In Hardy vs. Sting, Anderson comes down to the ring with gauze wrapped around his head from the chair shot. He returns the favor from earlier, and Sting retains the title.

At Lockdown, we get Sting vs. RVD, Ray vs. Devon, Hernandez vs. Morgan, Jarrett  vs. Angle, and a Lethal Lockdown match with Anderson and Fortune taking on The Hardy Boys, Gunner, Murphy, and Ric Flair with both the X-Division and Tag Team titles on the line. Flair should definitely be the guy doing the job in that one.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on how to possibly improve this booking, feel free to comment.
