Former Shield partners face off, WWE press, Slammiversary notes and Questions on Mania in Chicago, injuries, Vince's philosophies, Paige's booking and Vince Russo

Dean Ambrose faced Seth Rollins on this weekend's live events. I hope there are more talents at their level working in NXT right now and talents on he main roster who will reach that level, too. There are definitely some great performers working in WWE.

Emma went home to Australia to do press for WWE ahead of a summer tour there. I'm glad she's doing well. I think the best from her is yet to come.

John Cena talked about Father's Day and becoming a wrestler because of his dad. I'm pretty sure his dad still promotes in the Boston area.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
TNA put up a tweet ahead of Slammiversary to drum up interest for the PPV, but pulled it after not nearly enough people retweeted it for them to reach their goal. If that doesn't tell you the level of apathy for TNA right now, I don't know what will.

Someone at Slammiversary sent live impressions, including an attendance estimate. I also expect the Von Erichs to be a one-time deal at this point.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think any big city WWE can make a ton of money in for a big show is on the list. Having a fancy stadium certainly helps, as does the weather. It's all a matter of what they can draw at the PPV and the events leading to it.

2. Vince is a workaholic who doesn't like to miss time under any circumstances. He expects the same level of dedication from those who work with him. He's also a control freak. So he probably thought if Bryan worked hard enough, he could overcome what the doctors said. Maybe it was hopefulness mixed with denial? Either way, when the doctor says "at least two months, likely longer", that's generally the truth.

3. I think the Cena hate's really gone too far. There are few performers at his level. Granted, we might see more people at that level if they're pushed as being at that level, but there are worse directions to go than Cena as the top babyface. As for using those names as jobbers, the fans know those names and they have experience. Those two factors are key for getting another talent over. Not everyone can be protected. Some talented people have to be in supporting roles.

4. There are worse ways to be booked than being the youngest-ever Divas' Champion and beating opponents left and right via tapout.

5. Russo booked David Arquette to win the WCW Title and you're surprised he did something to get attention? He's one of the masters of such things.

More wrestling tomorrow.
