Interview with BNB/NXT Diva, more Slammiversary notes, GFW update, Hardys reunion and Tommy Dreamer in TNA, Smackdown audience and Questions on HHH's sledgehammer, the Attitude Era, Rollins, splitting the WWE Title and Slater

Bad News Barrett promoted Raw. He's really getting some mileage out of this character.

Update: another Barrett appearance. I hope he really succeeds with this gimmick. He's a very talented wrestler.

There were a number of issues with cable providers with airing Slammiversary. No word on why.

Update: TNA no longer allows recording of their PPVs on cable providers. I guess they're trying to combat piracy? Good luck with that.

The Dallas Cowboys' appearance at Slammiversary got some press. That was TNA's goal. I wonder where things go from here, since it's not like they're building to Storm facing an NFL player.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Around 3,500 to 4,000 fans attended Slammiversary, which is a pretty good number for TNA these days. A lot of the credit is going to the appearance of the Von Erichs and the media appearances they had. Hopefully for TNA, some of the people who came just to see the Von Erichs will turn into regular viewers.

Tommy Dreamer was backstage at Slammiversary as an agent, so there must not be too much bad blood there.

Jeff Jarrett talked about searching for talent for GFW. I hope he uncovers some big stars. Note some of the top names and rising stars in WWE today came from the indies.

NXT's Alexa Bliss gave an introductory interview to WWE.com. I'm glad she's turned things around in her personal life.

Matt Hardy has been booked for TNA's upcoming tapings in New York City. It looks like we'll be seeing both the Hardys and Team 3D for at least the next few months. I hope they can recapture some of the magic they had years ago. Jeff's Willow character could be fading to the background for a while, which is fine by me.

Smackdown's audience from Friday was 2.32 million, down sharply from the previous week. However, last week featured a big increase from the previous week. The audience is only down 110,000 or so from two weeks ago. Still a notable drop, but it's important to keep things in context.

Tommy Dreamer will be on this week's edition of Impact Wrestling to play off his comments at House of Hardcore when Bully Ray was pulled from the event at the last minute. I think TNA could have some fun tricks up its sleeve for the upcoming tapings.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. WWE's prop team has got to be able to come up with a realistic looking sledgehammer. It does look odd when he uses it the way he does. I guess in kayfabe he doesn't want to do TOO much damage where they could suffer permanent damage. Yeah, that's a little flimsy. It's a good point.

2. I don't think they need to return to the Attitude Era as far as content, but that fire from everyone involved would be great. They need to shuffle the deck on-screen (they're doing this to a degree) and behind-the-scenes. A new WWE for a new era and all those cliches. WWE does have a lot of good talent, but it's not as black and white as "wrestlers good, creative bad". If there's a really bad actor in a part, do the writers get blamed for how the movie goes? I don't see why wrestling should be different.

3. That's pretty much how I saw it, too. I do think it some point it might make sense for him to get new gear, but he's so recognizable in the Shield gear.

4. I hope that's not what they're thinking. I think in kayfabe that would keep the title somewhat in dispute since it's presented as two physical "trophies" for one championship.

5. Because while McIntyre might have been a better wrestler, I do think Slater's an effective character and can get heat. Note that it was McIntyre and Mahal who joined Slater's gimmick, not the other way around.

More wrestling tomorrow.
