Live Payback report, MVP update, TNA returns, Impact lineup, what happened after Payback, Payback injury?, Punk/AJ update, Barrett's black eye, More Torito vs. Hornswoggle?, Batista addresses #Bluetista, Foley addresses Bray's loss, Smackdown audience, Hall of Famer appearance, next TNA special announced and Questions on a Wyatt breakup, the WWE Title situation, Cena's feuds and Dixie going through a table

Someone posted live thoughts from Payback. Having a "come down" match is important and shouldn't be overlooked when there are multiple main events. Having brawls all over the arena makes it difficult for the crowd to focus on one thing. That's a good point I didn't really think of.

MVP worked as a "general manager" for his other European bookings due to his injury. He was still on crutches. I hope TNA has a good backup plan for Slammiversary. How about EY vs. Abyss? MVP has no reason to reward Roode or Joe (whom I suggested previously)  and there's no babyface authority figure to oppose him. EY vs. Abyss already has heat to it as well.

Taryn Terrell and Manik are expected back on TNA TV shortly. That's great! Taryn makes a natural antagonist for the Beautiful People since she's not tied into the current mess of transitioning heels and babyfaces.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Set for this week's Impact:
- First Blood match between MVP's faction and their opposition
- Samoa Joe vs. Austin Aries
- Davey Richards vs. Eddie Edwards
- Bram vs. Willow

Honestly, it's pretty clever booking to have MVP force his enemies to face each other. And it should provide some awesome matches!

After Payback, The Shield celebrated their win over Evolution. I wonder how far in advance they planned Rollins' heel turn. It still seems pretty weird.

Roman Reigns stated he believed he tore his triceps at Payback. This could be storyline to sell how dangerous the match was. Reigns would be a good candidate to be the new champion if Bryan can't compete at MITB. It would suck to have him injured, too!

Even though they were at the nearby NHL game, C.M. Punk and AJ Lee DID NOT visit at Payback. I can't say I'm surprised. We won't be seeing AJ for a little while longer, and it could be a LONG time before we see Punk on WWE TV again (if we see him there at all).

Bad News Barrett's black eye came from his very physical encounter with RVD. That style can be quite rough.

Hornswoggle is teasing a "Mini in the Bank" match with El Torito for the next PPV. As clever as that pun is, I don't feel like that's much different from a WeeLC match and the feud's already dragged on pretty long. The winning man's team could get a shot at the tag team titles, though. At least then this would have served some purpose.

Batista was less than amused by the online response to his ring attire at Payback. I do think more focus should have been paid to what the match did for The Shield, but some of the #Bluetista jabs were pretty clever. There's a certain group of fans who microanalyze every little thing Batista does or wears it seems like.

Mick Foley addressed the fan response to Cena beating Wyatt. He's right on the money. The actual outcome of a match or feud is just part of the puzzle.

Smackdown's audience on Friday was 2.44 million, a notable drop from the previous week. That's not a bad number, though.

Bob Backlund took photos with fans outside of the building ahead of Payback. That's pretty cool.

TNA will film a Destination X edition of Impact while in New York City. That was one of the highest-rated editions of the show last year, so they're wise to bring it back. EY vs. Sanada for the World Title doesn't sound particularly exciting to me. Also, lol @ no mention of Chris Sabin's cash-in.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'd be surprised if they didn't split up at some point. That feels like a given with factions in 2014. Absolutely Harper could get over as a singles guy. He's amazing. I think Rowan can do pretty well for himself, too.

2. This feels way overbooked. How about ONE MITB to declare a new champion, who's challenged at Summerslam by BBRRRRRRRROOOOCCCCCKKK. LLLEEEEEEEESSSSSNNNNAAAARRRRR. And not having a champion at live events and weekly TV still happens if you have two MITB winners who don't face off for the title until Summerslam. Heck, they're doing live events and TV without the champion now! At any rate, Paul Heyman's client, Brock Lesnar, probably wouldn't agree to do too many more dates (if any at all). He can demand a pretty high booking fee as the man who conquered The Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania, is the one in 21-and-one and only came back to do a part-time gig anyway.

3. Kane, since WWE can put the heat on him for taking Bryan out to set up the comeback match. Why split the fans between two babyfaces when you can have them fully behind one versus a despicable heel?

4. Because last man standing matches are feud-enders. It could easily be HIAC or some other big gimmick match if protected properly.

5. I think it makes more sense to do it at Slammiversary as a stipulation of Bully vs. EC3, but I can easily see them doing a rematch of Bully vs. EC3 at those tapings with that stipulation.

More wrestling tomorrow.
