Main Event Reax - 6/24/14, Raw notes, TNA-NYC press, TNA title match at Wrestle-1, TNA returns, Interviews with Zbyszko/Reigns/Jimmy Uso/Cesaro, WWE charity, NXT trainer, another NXT injury, Vickie leaves, Aries on ring change, Raw audience, former AWA announcer passes, Low Ki on return, another WWE titleholder hurt and Questions on McIntyre, Styles-WWE, Punk, MITB and TNA's identity

Main Event:
That was a pretty good promo from Ziggler. He can deliver when they give him the chance to.

Good opening match! I liked Rollins vs. Kofi specifically.

Fun post-match to sell the ladder match for Sunday.

I really liked the Fandango/Layla segment. That was actually pretty sweet.

That match was kind of chaotic, and it pretty much just served as a backdrop for Summer Rae vs. Layla, but I liked the segment for what it was. Bo continues to get by on luck.

Bo's perfectly annoying in this role.

Good enough tag match between R-Truth/Woods and Rybaxel. I don't see either team being at title level at the moment, but they did well here.

I haven't heard the word "hermaphrodite" in quite a while. But the Dusts vs.Rybaxel is good by me.

I really liked Reigns' promo and that whole segment. The match with Kane should be pretty good.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Here are live notes from Raw. It's always cool to hear the perspective of someone who was there.

Lashley and Eric Young appeared on FOX & Friends to promote TNA's upcoming tapings. Lashley will be facing Jeff Hardy in NYC, but I suspect we'll see a rematch with Young, too.

The Wolves will be defending the TNA Tag Team Championships on the next Wrestle-1 show. I suspect the Japanese market is a favorite of theirs.

Robbie E and Brooke Tessmacher have finished filming for "The Amazing Race". Now Robbie can join his partners in their jobbing adventures. The Bro-Mans are over, so it's working out for him.

Larry Zbyszko talked about Chris Jericho and more. He's dead-on about the importance of having a personality.

Roman Reigns was interviewed on the changing landscape of WWE. "Longtime pro wrestling purists" would know that things were family-friendly before the Attitude Era. I think a real purist would be upset at things like middle fingers and puppies being more important than the actual wrestling.

Jimmy Uso shared a story about being caught with Naomi on a bus. I would have been fine not knowing about their personal lives.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon made a charity in honor of Connor "The Crusher". That's pretty cool. Connor touched a lot of lives.

Michelle McCool was down in NXT training with the developmental Divas. I think she really got good during the course of her WWE run.

NXT's Slate Randall is out with a concussion. I can't wait to see what he's all about after hearing of his pre-WWE work.

Vickie Guerrero commented on her WWE departure. No Vickie OR Teddy Long? Kind of a weird feeling given how much TV time they've occupied. Vickie definitely played an effective heel in her run and deserves to be commended for that. I can actually see her as a Hall of Famer down the line.

Update: Here's footage of Vickie and the Divas after her match with Stephanie. That was nice. I hear she's a great person behind-the-scenes.

Austin Aries commented after the return of TNA's six-sided ring. It's good for all of us to step away from social media for a spell!

Cesaro promoted Money In The Bank. It's wild to think that he's already in the WWE Title picture.

Raw's audience on Monday was 4.03 million viewers, down from the previous week. I hope there's a big jump after MITB.

Former AWA announcer Larry Nelson passed away. PWInsider covered his career. That final paragraph from his book was really touching. It's worth looking at the history of the AWA for those who aren't familiar with it.

Low Ki tweeted about coming back to TNA. I'm glad he'll be back tearing up the X-Division.

Bad News Barrett separated his shoulder during a match on Smackdown. His status for MITB is up in the air at this point. That's a shame. He was really building momentum.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Yeah, it looks like the negative publicity that got WWE doomed him from getting the push a lot of people wanted him to get. I hope he finds success elsewhere.

2. Styles isn't a great promo guy and doesn't have much of a character. I don't know how well he'd get over in WWE, where being an awesome athlete will only get you so far. I don't think he's old at 36, but they're definitely picking up younger wrestlers whom they can mold into the characters WWE wants them to be.

3. I love Punk's work, but I agree here. As best as we can tell at this point, he's not coming back to WWE. Not at MITB. Not at Summerslam. Possibly never. It's simply not in the works at this point.

4. I also think WWE should be careful if they're putting the title on someone who's never had it before, especially if they're just going to put it back on Bryan within a few months. I think it could work with Bray as champion if he has a big feud with Bryan before Bryan wins the title.

5. TNA has used established stars from other companies since Day One. I think they have the ability to get TNA Originals over, but often they decide to go with the former WWE/WCW/ECW names instead. I also think the TV production is more impressive under Bischoff and Hervey, but the jerky camera is HORRIBLE.  I don't think the Hogan/Bischoff Era was a total bust, but it definitely seems to have done a good deal of harm to TNA.

More wrestling tomorrow.
