Steen note, TNA hypes "big news", update on physical WWE Championship, Battleground guest and Questions on the Summerslam main event, bringing back "jobbers", Sting in WWE, Mysterio and internet forums

Kevin Steen worked his final match with Ring of Honor this weekend. There continues to be speculation of him going to WWE. Steen wrestled with "OLE" written on one of his wrists. This was the catchphrase of longtime rival El Generico, who now wrestles as Sami Zayn in NXT. There hasn't been any official confirmation of Steen going to WWE, but he was part of a tryout months back.

TNA made reference to "big news" on Twitter, but it turned out to just be hype for Matt Hardy's return. It had already been officially announced Matt was going to be on Impact, so this wasn't really anything groundbreaking.

WWE will officially be transitioning to the new logo (the one used for the Network) at Summerslam. New championship belts with the new logo are being made. It's expected that once this switch is made, WWE will just use one physical belt for the top title. "Big Gold" will once more be retired. It makes sense for there to just be one belt for the title. I'm surprised they've kept two belts as long as they have.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Tatanka was visiting at WWE Battleground. I wonder if there was any discussion of him being a surprise entrant in the IC Title battle royal. Him winning would have shaken things up, but I don't think a 53-year-old should win the gold unless there's a solid booking plan ahead.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. WWE's definitely in a tough spot. Cena vs. Lesnar is definitely a really big deal given what both men have accomplished, and it will get a lot of hype. I also think it could lead to a big star-making moment at WM31 of Reigns (or Bryan or Cesaro) dethroning Brock for the title. But to get there, that's a lot of time of not having the WWE Champ on TV or live events. It's a risky move, but I think it's what WWE's going to do. It could be a long slog between Summerslam and WM31.

2. I respect the thought process behind it, but I don't know how realistic of an idea it is. Having a virtual no-name face an established star is even more predictable and one-sided, and it doesn't do much for the established star to beat a nobody. I also think they should make the people in the undercard matter more, but realistically there are going to be people who generally lose matches. You can't have people gain big momentum by winning a lot and not have people who lose a lot unless you go into non-clean finishes or 50/50 finishes that don't really get the winner over.

3. I don't see how you don't go with Sting vs. Taker if Taker's able to go at WM31. If Taker can't do it, they've made a tease for Sting vs. HHH that could work well. I think that should probably be Sting's only match unless he can really go another round. Sting vs. Bray Wyatt would be an interesting second match based on the gimmicks involved.

4. Yeah, Rey's wrestling on borrowed time. I do wonder how much longer he can keep going.

5. I've also seen some of the comment sections of other sites and some of what's said makes my head spin.

More wrestling tomorrow.
