Injury update to top TNA name, TNA roster updates, TNA's UK announcement, Slammiversary plan, more NYC taping notes, more on Emma arrest, Bret Hart and Y2J dates, where's Mark Henry?, BNB update, Interview with Santino, why Roman has a title match, a look back at the last full year of ECW, Emma released and reinstated, WWE HQ scare, the effect of Cena winning on business and Questions on Vickie vs. The Authority, Orton vs. Rollins, wrestling props, RVD as champ and Orton as a Wyatt

This item references a TNA spoiler: Dixie Carter broke two small bones in her back due to the powerbomb she took from Bully Ray. This is considered a minor injury. Either way, this is expected to be the end of the Carter character. My opinions on that will depend on how things play out and what TNA has planned going forward.

Update: Tommy Dreamer is also expected to be done as an on-screen character. He will remain as a producer.

Bully Ray had a lot of pull with the creative plans at the NYC tapings, including suggesting Team 3D vs. the Hardys. That one should have been a no-brainer.

Everything else from Wednesday is after the break.

Another TNA roster spoiler: Snitsky and the former Ezekiel Jackson were just brought in for the NYC tapings. The idea was to get heat on them and Dixie in front of the old school ECW fans. I think that's a pretty clever move.

Devon will be back with TNA regularly going into Bound For Glory, which is when he and Bully Ray go into the TNA Hall of Fame. That works for me. It's just a brief nostalgia run and will hopefully be the last hoorah for the group in TNA.

King Mo continues to train with Kenny King and will be working more with TNA going forward. I'm taking a wait-and-see approach there.

Homicide is back in the X-Division. Sweet!

TNA's UK announcement will be for a TV show exclusively for that market. I don't know how much of a chance there really was for it to be a Spike TV deal, although I'm sure TNA would love to announce that soon.

TNA's original plan for Slammiversary was MVP becoming World Champion. I don't think they should have ended a major PPV with a heel winning the title. TNA really needed a boost that night, and putting the title on MVP then would have killed the buzz.

TNA cut the fire-eating from The Managerie's entrance in NYC due to the proximity of the fire to the fans. Good move!

A former WWE referee and some trainees from House of Hardcore played police officers at one of the NYC tapings. It's cool TNA can use Dreamer's workers like that.

Announced for the next set of TNA tapings in NYC:
- Abyss vs. Bram in a "Stairway to Janice" match teasing glass, fire, thumbtacks and more.
- Gail Kim vs. Taryn Terrell vs. Angelina Love vs. Velvet Sky for the Knockouts Championship
That first match sounds really intense. Ouch.

The next set of TNA tapings in NYC will cover episodes for September and October. This could include the final episodes on Spike if a new deal isn't reached. Could the end of Impact on Spike be near?

TMZ.com and WWLP.com covered Emma's arrest. I'm sure WWE wasn't thrilled.

Update: WWE released Emma from her contract. Unless there's more to the story than Emma making a simple mistake, that's deplorable. Way to throw a talent under the bus. Everyone deserves a second chance, and others on the roster have been kept on for worse. Dick move, plain and simple, unless they've got a really good reason to cut ties.

Update: WWE reinstated her, but is expected to take punitive measures. Unless she intentionally broke the law, they shouldn't do anything. Her being fired was BULL$*%#.

Update: Emma being reinstated was at least partially due to the negative reaction to her being released when others had been kept on after greater offenses. Her release was a surprise backstage due to how minor the charge was. It will be dropped from her record upon completion of community service. I hope WWE thinks twice next time before overreacting.

Bret Hart is set for next week's WWE tapings in Canada. I hope he's involved with Rusev and Swagger.

Chris Jericho will be working WWE's tour of Japan. That's pretty cool. I hope his return means an uptick in business.

Update: WWE is now advertised as doing a Highlight Reel segment in Madison Square Garden. I'm looking forward to his run.

Jericho will also be working WWE's Australia tour. That's pretty cool.

There were previous plans for Jericho to face Daniel Bryan at WM30. I'm glad they went with Bryan winning the title. If we did get Jericho vs. Wyatt at WM30, who would Cena have faced?

There are a number of dates Jericho won't be able to work due to Fozzy commitments. Fozzy was unable to get a big summer tour, so Jericho's free to work now.

Mark Henry is working WWE's event in MSG. He's been missing for more than a month and a half. I think his career's pretty much winding down at this point. I don't see him working more than two more years as a wrestler.

Bad News Barrett underwent surgery on his separated shoulder. He could be out for several months. All these WWE injuries suck.

Santino Marella talked about his longevity with WWE and more. Ultimately WWE thinks they can draw more money or put on more segments with Santino than they could with some of the released stars. It's a shame, but WWE needed to make some cuts after the less-than-impressive results of the Network.

The storyline for Triple H putting Roman Reigns in the WWE Title picture despite their issues is because it's "best for business". You were expecting something else? Theoretically if Roman wins, Plan B is for Rollins to cash in.

Justin Credible looked back at the year 2000 for ECW. That should be another great release from Kayfabe Commentaries. ECW was a one-of-a-kind thing for sure. It does suck that Sabu's broke given how much punishment he's gone through.

Matt Hardy is expected to continue working with ROH. In other words, I wouldn't expect him to be a regular in TNA. We'll see, though.

There was a suspicious package of white powder at WWE headquarters, but there was no danger. That's way too far for airing grievances against the company.

Forbes.com has an article on the effect of John Cena's championship reigns on WWE's business. Pretty interesting analysis. I don't think it's 100% definitive, but it's worth looking at.

For my take on Wednesday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think that story could have been told pretty effectively, but did WWE need to spend that much time on non-wrestlers? If Vickie rallied some wrestlers to challenge The Authority and was a boost in the arm in that sense, I think I would have been OK with it. But a long-term feud between Stephanie and Vickie? I'm not so sure.

2. It could have been a ruse on HHH's part to pass the torch to Rollins. I'm split on whether I'd be a fan of that feud. They need to give time to Rollins vs. Ambrose first.

3. Yeah, WWE likes the visual of the trash cans bending. It is pretty cool.

4. Did RVD send this question in? I'd also be hesitant to put the title on RVD only for him to disappear again a few months later. Should he really be pushed as the top guy when he's only around a few months a year? I like RVD as a heel, but I don't think he should be pushed that hard in 2014.

5. I'm not feeling it. It doesn't seem to fit Orton's act to be paired with the Wyatts.

More wrestling later.
