Correction on WWE ratings in Mexico, Updates on Scott Hall, Hulk Hogan, Shane McMahon, and WWE roster cuts,Trish Stratus' movie debuts, Questions on Jericho leaving wrestling, Cena turning heel, Trish's return, and the Freebirds in the Hall, Rock on Ellen recap, TNA to undergo changes?, Former ROH/Chikara star Larry Sweeney passes away, Tough Enough competitor profiled, WWE Diva rumorbuster, Issues between John Morrison and Trish Stratus, Smackdown rating, Raw dark matches/Superstars spoilers, and notes on Edge's retirement

Today's news is starting off with a correction on my part. I stated that WWE was getting similar ratings to established lucha promotions (AAA, CMLL) in Mexico. That's incorrect. WWE is actually getting 2-3 times the number of viewers that they are. If someone wants me to start posting ratings for foreign countries, (namely Mexico or the UK) comment on this post and I'll start doing so.

Here's the latest on the Scott Hall situation. I'm glad he's getting help, but this sounds pretty bad. The promotion should definitely get its money back. Tough situation for everyone here.

Trish Stratus was joined by Tara and Edge for the screening of a movie she was in. The screening was in Edge's new hometown of Asheville, NC.

PWInsider.com has some new questions up today. I'll have my take on them after the break. First up, will Chris Jericho leave wrestling if DWTS goes well?

I don't think that he will. He's pretty much stated that he'll come back at some point down the line, and WWE already has a contract all set up for him. I think that once he gets this and Fozzy out of his system (for now) he'll be back. That's no guarantee, though. As for him using his real name, that was just him performing as himself and not a character.

For question 2, I wouldn't say that Cena's being booed overwhelmingly. He definitely has a good part of the audience against him, but there's still a good contingent of Cena fans out there. I don't think they'll turn him heel any time soon unless that fan support dwindles. Sorry non-Cena fans.

As for #3, Trish's returns might hurt her a bit, but as long as she's presented in somewhat small doses and as a big deal, it shouldn't diminish her much (if at all). Now, if we end up with Mick Foley levels of constantly returning and leaving, having mediocre matches, and being too big of a part of the story, it would hurt her.

No, it wasn't a slap in the face of Michael Hayes for the Freebirds not to go in the Hall of Fame this year. They'll definitely get in at some point. WWE just decided to go with different people this time.

I'll defer to their answer for the fifth question.

Here's a report of The Rock on Ellen DeGeneres. Sounds interesting.

With Hulk Hogan's successful back surgery, it's considered more and more of a possibility that he'll return to the ring later this year. Not exactly something I'm looking forward to, even if it's a legitimate retirement match. It would draw money, though, and that's what TNA's thinking about.

Shane McMahon appeared on-camera at the Masters tournament on Sunday. He's on the Board of Directors for a management agency for the golfer he was speaking with.

There are rumors that TNA is considering big changes to its product. A complete change in how the company is presented and even a name change are possibilities according to these rumors.

Independent wrestler Larry Sweeney passed away Monday at the age of 29. Here's a post with all the details on the untimely passing, and here's one where his friends remember him.

Update: ROH has a statement on his passing.

WWE is still believed to be making cuts to its roster in the near future. However, it will almost certainly wait until after the current tour of Europe is completed.

Tough Enough competitor Jeremiah Riggs is the focus of a story here.

Despite Internet rumors to the contrary, Gail Kim is NOT leaving WWE according to her official Twitter page.

Stone Cold Steve Austin talks Tough Enough and how he got into wrestling here.

Here's something about backstage issues Trish Stratus and John Morrison had regarding their WrestleMania match. It is believed that Morrison was upset because he felt that Trish took a spot from (his girlfriend) Melina on the show.

Smackdown drew a 2.1 rating on Friday coming off of WrestleMania. Nice number.

The dark match for Raw had Yoshi Tatsu pinning Ted DiBiase. On Superstars, The Great Khali pinned Zack Ryder and Gail Kim/Natalya went over Melina/Maryse when Maryse tapped to the Sharpshooter.

Edge's retirement and the reasons for it are said to be 100% legitimate. WWE.com has an article on the medical reasons for his retirement. As much as I want him to stick around as a fan, if the issues are that serious then he made the right decision. It's not worth possible paralysis or death to drop the title in a something as dangerous as a  ladder match. He will certainly be greatly missed. He will officially drop the World Heavyweight Championship on Smackdown.

John Cena gave a speech about Edge to close Raw.

That's all for tonight's news. Thank you Edge for every match you've ever competed in, and every smile you ever put on a fan's face. You've earned your retirement. Go ride off into the sunset with your head held high.

More news tomorrow.
