Regal's new role, WWE covers Edge's retirement, Rock scheduled for upcoming Raw, Questions on Kong the enforcer, Gail Kim, Jericho in the Rumble, and changing the name of WrestleMania, TNA to have a cruise for fans, more press for Rima, big gig for Jericho, WWE cuts some of Edge's speech, Hawkins talks Edge, Chavo's Twitter hacked, and NatGeo to be at Evolve 7.

William Regal did commentary for the most recent episode of FCW TV. Could he be making a full-time switch to commentary at some point? He's talked about being close to (in-ring) retirement in the not-so-distant past.

WWE.com has a number of videos about Edge's retirement. There's his Post-Smackdown speech and then separate videos where Triple H and Rey Mysterio talk about Edge's career. I'll have my own look back at his career shortly after this post.

The Rock is scheduled to be on Raw on 5/2, according to the (hosting) American Airlines Arena. This is the night after Extreme Rules. I'll be interested to see how they continue to build Cena vs. Rock for an entire year.

Next up, PWInsider.com has some questions to ponder on. First they're asked if the former Awesome Kong would be a good enforcer for Nexus. I'm kind of thinking that Nexus only has so much juice left in it. Unless they start harassing Divas, I'm saying the odds of this happening are pretty low. I think she could be used better elsewhere.

For question #2, what changes will we see for Gail Kim in 2011? I don't see many. Given that she hasn't been with Daniel Bryan lately, it seems like she's just going to be back as a reliable in-ring face for the Divas' division.

My guess for the third question is that WWE doesn't want to push Jericho at that level for WrestleMania, and even if they did, the Rumble could likely be better used having someone else win. WWE and Jericho are good at getting him over at that level when they need to without him winning such a big match.

Apparently, WWE's going to keep the WrestleMania name. For one thing, they've already started advertising WM28. I know it seems ridiculous that they're cutting the word wrestling but keeping that PPV name, but thankfully they realized that it's too iconic to change without possibly losing business. It'd be like calling the Super Bowl something else.

More news and my take on it after the break!

TNA has announced a cruise where fans can interact with wrestlers over 3 days as it goes from Florida to the Bahamas. It also includes VIP access to Final Resolution 2011, and the next 2 Impact tapings after it. It sounds pretty ridiculous on the surface, but some bands have done this lately and as far as I know did pretty well with it. I'm both interested and worried with how this could turn out.

Rima Fakih continues to get press for her Tough Enough appearances, this time from an Arab-American news site.

Chris Jericho's Fozzy will open for Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax in the UK. Don't worry, when he returns to WWE, it will be his main focus.

WWE's "Superstar Slingshot",  a take on the wildly popular Angry Birds, is now available at Apple's App Store.

On WWE.com's video of Edge's post-Smackdown speech, they cut the mentions of Lita, Vince McMahon, Brian Gerwitz, and Michael Hayes. I guess because it broke kayfabe to mention the latter 2 (who are the heads of Creative for Raw and Smackdown respectively), and maybe they didn't want to remind fans of what happened with Lita? Not to mention that she's not with the company anymore. That's a guess, though.

Here's Curt Hawkins' tribute video to Edge.

Chavo Guerrero says that his Twitter page was hacked and sent out "mean" direct messages. He took a friendly jab at Angle's recent incident as well.

The National Geographic channel (NatGeo), will film footage at Tuesday's Evolve 7 for a story on independent wrestlers trying to progress in the business.

That's all for Saturday's news. I'll be back shortly with my look at Edge's WWE career.
