Jericho on a return, new WWE exec, more on Edge, Questions on Paul Burchill, TNA DVDs, 2nd generation wrestlers, and a Funk DVD, Trish interview, Linda update, Tough Enough news, ex-WCW/ECW wrestler hospitalized, the fate of Superstars, Sting talks, TNA PPVs go HD on Dish, Mickie injury update, more on Dean Malenko, and Cena and The Usos talk videogames.

Chris Jericho said on the "Tonight Show" that he'll return to WWE "if the time comes where (he) feel(s) like (he's) stimulated to go back and do something different because (he's) always about pushing (him)self".

WWE has hired a new senior vice president of live events. Before coming to the company, Thomas Veit was the president of MLS' Philadelphia Union and PPL Park.

An Asheville blog very briefly mentions Edge's retirement here. Calling it wwwe.com AND pro wrestling? WWE's not going to be happy with this.

Next up, PWInsider.com has some questions for me to give my opinion on. First, what happened to Paul Burchill? Creative presumably "had nothing for him" after the ECW brand shut down. Apparently he's a full-time firefighter now. Glad he found something outside of the business. I really enjoyed his work. If through some insane stroke of good luck I ended up running a successful wrestling promotion soon (which is pretty much the same odds of winning the lottery without buying a ticket), I'd hire him for sure.

Nothing to add to #2. For #3, I imagine they'll include Sting vs. Hardy on the DVD. That was, for better or worse, the main event of the evening and makes sense to put on the DVD. It'll be interesting seeing how they promote the show.

For #4, there are plenty other 2nd and 3rd generation wrestlers active in the US! Hit the break for a list of those from WWE and TNA (and their alumni).

Here's who I can find: WWE's David Hart Smith (son of the British Bulldog), Goldust (son of Dusty Rhodes), Husky Harris (son of Irwin R. Schyster, grandson of Blackjack Mulligan), The Usos (Rikishi's sons), Michael McGillicutty (Mr. Perfect's son), Primo (son of Puerto Rican legend Carlos Colon), Randy Orton (son of "Cowboy" Bob Orton, grandson of Bob Orton, Sr.), Sin Cara (son of a luchador), Natalya (daughter of Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart), Tamina (daughter of Jimmy Snuka), Alberto Del Rio (son of luchador Dos Caras), Chavo Guerrero (son of Chavo Guerrero, Sr.), FCW's Bo Rotundo (Husky Harris' brother), Brett DiBiase (Ted Jr.'s brother), Richie Steamboat (Ricky's son), Roman Leakee (member of the Wild Samoans family), and Raquel Diaz (Eddie Guerrero's daughter). TNA has Jeff Jarrett (son of Jerry Jarrett). For alumni who still wrestle: Manu and Rosey are also in the Wild Samoan family, Carlito is Primo's brother, Juventud Guerrera's father wrestled, BG James/Road Dogg is the son of Hall of Famer Bullet Bob Armstrong, and there are probably others but I really need to move on here.

I don't see there being a Terry Funk DVD any time soon by WWE. It's rare that they put out a DVD on someone who didn't have a lot of their career in WWE, especially a hardcore guy like Funk.

Trish Stratus was interviewed about Tough Enough, yoga, and WM27.

Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon continues to consider a 2012 run for Senate, as per an article on some of her recent charity work.

One of Edge's long-time friends has a great look at his career here.

This link looks at an old rumor that Andre The Giant tried out for the Washington Redskins. Don't think I had heard that one before.

Apparently, there are a number of Tough Enough competitors whose eliminations haven't aired who are working on the indie scene. Well, they've got to make money somehow. Glad they're still interested in wrestling.

Here's a link to a number of videos for Tough Enough, including auditions and G4's visit to the show. WWE was already familiar with Rima Fakih, so she didn't need to audition.

Jerry Lawler is campaigning against the demolition of the well-known Mid-South Coliseum. It's always tough weighing the pros and cons of what to do with something historic while also making new things.

Scotty Riggs, of WCW and ECW fame, was sent to a hospital recently due to bleeding ulcers. Ouch. Hopefully he recovers soon.

WWE Superstars will now air on WWE.com Thursdays at 5 p.m. EST. It isn't a stream like NXT but rather just a posting of the video much like YouTube or Hulu (without non-WWE ads). At least that was the case with the most recent episode.

Sting talked about sticking with TNA, the Jeff Hardy situation, and more here. Nice little read. I for one don't want to see Hogan get back in the ring. I think the difference between Hogan/Sting's deals and HBK/Taker's are that HBK and Taker were/are still putting on great matches and to some degree putting over younger talent. And they weren't the focal point of the show at 50+. I don't dislike Sting, I just think that he needs to be used more effectively. Then again, as much as they're paying him, I can see why they have him on the air so much.

Mick Foley looks back at Edge's career here. He puts him over huge.

TNA's PPVs are now going to be offered in HD on Dish Network for $5 extra. Good for them. If they make more money that way, more power to them.

While Mickie James' shoulder injury hasn't entirely healed, she says that she'll be good to go for Lockdown. I'm interested in what that will mean for the future of that feud.

Edge was on a house show in Germany on Thursday. He talked about his retirement, then was interrupted by Alberto Del Rio. Edge then introduced Kane as Del Rio's opponent in a street fight. This is likely how he will be used for the remainder of the tour.

WWE has put up part 2 of their look at "Where are they now?" with Dean Malenko. Chris Benoit was also with Malenko, Saturn, and Guerrero when they jumped to WWE (then WWF). In fact, Benoit was WCW Champion and hadn't technically lost the title on his way out! Malenko's current role in the company is invaluable. Hopefully his advice is helping those young stars improve!

WWE also interviewed John Cena about WWE All-Stars. I think I'll end up checking that out at some point.

Finally, the Usos talked WWE All-Stars with ESPN.com. NBA Jam is a good metaphor for the game. I loved playing the original in the arcade. Ah, memories...

Anyway, that's a wrap for Thursday's news. I'll have more tomorrow.
