Tough Enough's theme song, Jericho on Kimmel recap and updates on his future, Cena films movie scene at Smackdown, wrestling megazine covers, WWE uses the "w" word, Piper interview, Questions on a territory system, attacking legends, title reigns, and Hogan running TNA, and updates on JR, Jeff Hardy in TNA, and WWE house show line-ups

Since someone asked, the theme song for the current iteration of Tough Enough (which is actually the 5th, not 4th version- #4 was the $1,000,000 version that Daniel Puder won) is "Champion" by Chipmunk featuring Chris Brown.

Chris Jericho was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live after his DWTS elimination. Here's a recap on how that went down, and here's video of it.

Update: Here's a story on his elimination. He isn't expected to come back to WWE just yet, as he still has some outside projects to tend to.

John Cena filmed part of a movie after the Smackdown taping Tuesday night. I don't know how much else (if any) he will film for it.

This blog has a unique look back at a fair number of old wrestling magazine covers.

WWE has a new "Submission Wrestling" shirt for Daniel Bryan. They've also referred to "wrestling moves" sine distancing themselves from the word.

Salon.com has an absolutely awesome interview with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Up next, I look at PWInsider.com's questions and the rest of the day's news. The first question asks if a territory system could work in this day and age.

I think the main flaw in the pitch they made is that the NWA is still around! There are a fair number of smaller promotions that are a part of it from a number of different territories/areas. As far as I know, each one has its own champions and storylines. There's still one World Champion, and they have a TV show. But for something else like that to get started? You'd think that if there was money in that, someone would already have tried it. It seems like it'd be easier to join up with the NWA than try to compete with it. I could be misreading the idea, though.

Nothing to add to #2.

For the third question, seriously? There's a reason that young wrestlers attack Hall of Famers- to get heat. That's a pretty big tradition in wrestling. Young "punk" characters trying to get a rub by beating up the legend. I bet WWE has considered the long-term effects of that angle, namely getting Jack Swagger over by having him beat up a non-wrestler. Now it's up for someone (Lawler) to offend the person who got beat up. Where were you when Triple H Pedigreed him all those years back? Or when Kane set him on fire? What about when Nexus attacked Hall of Famers last year? What about when Chris Jericho feuded with them? What about when Miz feuded with Bret Hart? And that's just off the top of my head from my time watching WWE. A life-long fan of even elementary-school age would be used to this angle.

For #4, it's happened. More than once if I'm not mistaken.

For #5, I'm tired of Hogan being in charge of TNA on-screen. I want something fresh there. Then again, I'm pretty tired of Hogan on TV in general.

Moving on, JR updated his status following recent X-rays. He will still compete at Extreme Rules, though the results weren't "overly encouraging". The doctors have been careful about a potential infection from Cole's tooth going to his bone.

Previously-aired Jeff Hardy footage was briefly featured in a video for the UK version of TNA Impact, however YouTube videos of the appearance were taken down by TNA. No word on what this means for his future there.

Chris Jericho made a sly reference to Extreme Rules on Twitter, asking if anything was going on in (his hometown of) Tampa this weekend.

In future WWE house show news: Ricky Steamboat is hosting an event on 5/8. Jim Duggan is hosting on 6/4. I like this idea. Also of note is that Rey Mysterio is still with the Smackdown brand for WWE's Mexico tour, while Sin Cara is still on Raw. Jerry "The King" Lawler is scheduled for a match with Jack Swagger on 6/18, but as always the card is subject to change.

That's all for Wednesday's news. I'll have more tomorrow.
