Questions on WM30, not covering WWE, the Pepsi Plunge, and calling spots, Rock meets some superfans, more on Hepatitis C story, correction on FCW talent debut, new WWE Creative team member, Jeff Hardy thinking of retiring?, and some Lockdown notes

The first news item for Sunday was the questions sent in to PWInsider.com. Someone asks if WWE is considering holding WrestleMania 30 somewhere other than Madison Square Garden so they can hols more people. If they aren't, they should be. I know that not too awful long ago at a house show there, John Cena said that WM30 would be there, but given some of the crowd reactions they've gotten there in the past and that they could likely make a lot more money elsewhere, I don't think they should go there JUST because it's a tradition. If they want to keep it in NYC, that's fine as long as it's somewhere that has good accommodations for everyone. But as far as their actual plans, it's way too early to know for sure.

My thoughts are similar to theirs for the 2nd question. Though WWE doesn't want to be called wrestling anymore, I'll still do a lot of coverage on it. I won't change the name of the blog to reflect their decision either. They can call it what they want to call it, and I'll call it what I want to call it.

As for the third question, there are several reasons that C.M. Punk doesn't do the Pepsi Plunge in WWE. The most obvious is that it's a Pedigree from the top rope, and they don't want 2 guys with such similar finishers. You also have to factor in how potentially dangerous that move is and the fact that they'd need some kind of approval from Pepsi to call it that if I'm not mistaken. I know they airbrush out Punk's Pepsi tattoo on DVD releases (and videogames) because it's a trademark. They do the same for his G.I. Joe Cobra tattoo.

I look at the rest of their questions and all of the day's news after the break.

The heel usually dictated the pace of the match because the general formula is that the heel dominates early on and then the babyface gets the big comeback. Nowadays I'm not entirely sure how it goes, though my guess is that the veteran performer gets to call the shots. I'm not 100% sure on that one.

I don't have anything to add for the last question, so I'll move on.

A woman claimed to be The Rock's sister in order for her and her sons to get a picture with him. They drove 4 hours bought plane tickets just to get through security and meet him. That's some serious dedication. Rock did end up taking a picture with them. Not everyone would be willing to do that for someone who pulled that off!

Slam! Sports has more on a previous story about a wrestler who isn't getting a chance to go to WWE because he has Hepatitis C. Here are comments by the wrestler, and this piece features comments by "Superstar" Billy Graham and Abdullah The Butcher. I'm glad that the business is more conscious about this kind of thing now. It's a dangerous thing to do. Is it really that expensive to get fake blood or something? Maybe something with food coloring would do the trick. These people shouldn't be putting themselves in that much jeopardy for such a relatively small pop. You can put on a 5-star match without blood, and you can put on a crappy match with one. Blood is just one tool (like weapons and cages, etc.) that CAN add to a wrestling product, but isn't totally needed to. I disagree with Billy Graham on one thing however. Congress does not need to step in here. For one thing, no one is actually forcing you to blade. There are plenty of other indy shows you can work on if that promoter insists that you blade. Not to mention plenty of other jobs you can work in. But that's another story.

In other news, there was a mistake on the identification of FCW's Ashley Miller. She's actually Irena Janjic, who is the OTHER female signee from Lance Storm's wrestling school. Sorry for the mix-up.

WWE has hired a new writer for its creative team. Tom Casielo won several Daytime Emmys for As The World Turns, which he was the associate head writer for. He also wrote for One Life to Live and The Young & The Restless. I'd be lying if I said I was familiar with his work. Hopefully he's a good transfer from soaps to WWE. He makes a few WWE-related Tweets on his Twitter recently. He's into video games and comic books, so he's cool by me.

Here's a story with an interesting twist: In his latest YouTube video, Matt Hardy suggests that his brother is considering retirement and may need some serious back surgery. Jeff's wife stated that he hadn't said anything to anyone about retiring, but then deleted the tweet, so put this one in the "maybe" file. Certainly an important development if true. Jeff's next court date is this week, which could have a big impact on his future career moves.

Don West, by way of TNA, was selling exclusive Jeff Hardy t-shirts at Lockdown. Make of that what you will.

Jeremy Borash has stated that the show in Cincinnati could have broken attendance records for Lockdown. That'd be good for business if true. The building was said to be just about half full.

Finally, here's what Kurt Angle had to say about using the RKO at Lockdown: "Orton, I used your finish as a sign of respect. Not to get back at (you). Respect!" So that's his take on the matter.

That's all for Sunday's news. More to come after midnight Monday.
