Homicide interview, Flair legal update, Questions on the Hall of Fame, Cornette/Heyman, and WWE having a non-PG show, WWE cancels house show, WWE catches up with Vader, Morrison's mic improvement profiled, Foley interview, Shark Boy profiled, Nash interview, Foley profiled, WM27 buyrate update, Lesnar interview, result of WWE audit. Kharma update, and a Diva undergoing surgery

Homicide talks about UWF , TNA, LAX, and some other acronyms in a recent interview. Nice read.

Here's the official press release for the matches at UWF First Blood.

The court case between Ric Flair and Highspots.com was supposed to continue on 5/25, but will instead go back to court 5/26.

PWInsider.com got in some new questions:
1. Taker, then HHH, then Edge based on what I see as their contributions to the industry. A lot of it comes down to how many years each have had in the business.

2. I really doubt it. I know they've had some issues over the years for one, and I'm not so sure that the two of them by themselves could make a more successful promotion than what we have going on now. While plenty of old-school/online fans like their work, their promotions weren't all that successful financially.

Nothing to add to 3 and 4, but after the break I tackle whether it would be a good idea for WWE to have an edgier show for Smackdown and keep Raw PG. Plus the rest of the day's news!

5. NO. For one thing, WWE doesn't get to decide what timeslot its shows get; that's up to the networks. It'd be pretty ridiculous if companies got to decide when their shows aired. "Well, we can't air new CSIs until 3 a.m. because the infomercial guys got all the primetime slots". The idea behind PG is that they can theoretically market it to just about anyone (since people under 14 "aren't supposed to watch" TV14 shows, whereas they can for PG). It's not "just marketed to kids" as some think; how many kids shows have angles like the one between Triple H and Orton a few years back? Raw just had someone hit by a car, and not too long ago C.M. Punk got pretty brutal with Nexus in their "initiations". I think the PG label has just become a symbol of what people don't like about WWE rather than some major, sudden shift in how the product's presented. As for an "Attitude Era"-esque show, I'm not so sure how well that would do. It became somewhat played out after a while.

Anyway, moving on. WWE canceled a house show in Kansas for 8/29.

WWE has a nice "where are they now" article on Vader.

This blog post briefly goes into John Morrison's training to be better on the mic.

Mick Foley had some comments about Vince Russo, Jeff Hardy, and Impact Wrestling going on the road.

Slam! talked with Shark Boy about his past and future. I think WWE would want to own the rights to the Shark Boy gimmick, so I'm not so sure he'd end up there. I personally found the Stone Cold impersonation hilarious and wish they went a lot further with it BUT I can see where a lot of TNA fans would take issue with that. I wanted him to use the Stunner Chummer on someone and have Don West yell "Shark Boy! Shark Boy! Shark Boy!" a la JR with Stone Cold's name. Goofy fun which some fans get a kick out of and some despise. I'd only do it if it would work business-wise.

Kevin Nash was interviewed about what the future holds for him in WWE. All of the members of the Kliq helping out younger talent? That would be unheard of years back. I think it would be great for those guys (and others) to give pointers to the up-and-comers. That's an amazing bank of knowledge to pull from. WWE continues to look towards the future and building up new talent.

As far as Nash vs. Big Show at Summerslam, I think Alberto Del Rio should get that spot based on the current storyline. Maybe Del Rio can hire Diesel for (July's) Money In The Bank to try to take out Big Show for him? I don't have much of a problem with Nash having one last big WWE moment, but I'd prefer it to be part of the bigger picture.

ABC profiled Mick Foley's charity work.

WWE's official preliminary estimate for the buyrate of WrestleMania 27 is over 1 million. The final official number will come with their Q2 earnings report, a few months down the line.

Brock Lesnar didn't rule out a one-time return to wrestling in a recent interview. I'd put this one in the "somewhat of a long shot" category, though I'd personally love to see it.

The result of the audit of WWE by the Connecticut Department of Labor is that they owe $7,316 in unemployment compensation. WWE disagres with this, but will pay the fine "under protest" because that would cost less than the legal process of challenging the audit.

Kharma will be on Raw this coming Monday to "explain her breakdown" from the last edition of the show. There are plenty of rumors as to where this story is heading and why, but I haven't seen anything concrete.

Finally, Layla is undergoing surgery on her ACL and MCL on 5/26. I wish her a speedy recovery!

That's all for Wednesday's news. More to come tomorrow.
