TNA Sacrifice preview

Tonight, TNA presents its latest PPV event, with a grand total of 9 matches on the card. Read on to see how I would book it.

Robbie E vs. Brian Kendrick screams "filler match". At least Kendrick's involved in that angle with Bischoff. He should come out and cut a promo about how the X-Division deserves better than to be thrown on the show at the last minute, and how it used to be one of the company's biggest attractions. The point is to re-establish the X-Division, because it needs it. Kendrick wins a good match that shows what both men can do.

Max Buck is inspired by Kendrick's promo, and takes Kazarian to the limit in their match. Also they should note that Max and Jeremy have worked things out to a degree, since they just kind of dropped that feud. Kazarian wins, but the division heats up in the weeks/months to come as there are more meaningful X-Division matches (i.e. not 2 minute spotfests).

Mexican America wins with help from Sarita and Rosita, setting up a rematch at Slammiversary for the #1 Contendership to the Tag Team Titles.

And speaking of those, in the match for them, Hardy smashes Storm with a beer bottle to win the tag titles. I know a lot of people will cry foul at that one, but hear me out: if the deal with Chris Harris works out all right, it will help him get over, too. If it doesn't work out, Hardy can team with Rob Terry or Murphy as champions. Naturally they'd have to "prove themselves" to Immortal to get that spot. On the surface Hardy winning doesn't say "getting over new stars", but the point is that it starts a bigger feud between the two sides, and Beer Money can earn their way to another championship. It's bigger for them to win it back in a well-done feud than hold the titles for so long we just kind of get used to them as champions, in my eyes. The match should look like it could go either way until the beer bottle smashing. Hardy will use that as evidence that Storm shouldn't be drinking and all that stuff.

Tara's banned from ringside in the Mickie/Madison match (in my scenario), so she can't get involved. Madison tries her damnedest, but Mickie wins. Madison throws a massive temper tantrum, and Tara/Mickie nod at each other, as they've sort of earned each other's respect now, but aren't friends.

They're in a tough spot with Crimson, since they're pushing him as undefeated but somewhat vulnerable. Joe comes to ringside and sits in a chair to watch the action. Abyss and Crimson start really brawling in the ring, and the referee gets unintentionally shoved down in the process. Joe uses this opportunity to also get involved, bringing the chair in as well. The match is thrown out, and security separates the 3 of them after a pretty nice fight. This leads to a Monster's Ball match at Slammiversary. Note that I pretty much do non-clean endings just to set up bigger matches that settle things.

AJ lays into Dreamer at the bell, because screw that guy. He gets outwrestled and beaten by the younger guy. Bully Ray's upset over this, and depending on how well the program gets over, we either get Ray vs. Dreamer, Ray vs. Dreamer vs. AJ, or Ray/Dreamer vs. AJ/Daniels at Sacrifice. I'm hoping for the third one. Ray slaps Dreamer HARD for losing, but Dreamer can't hit back.

Karen tries to get out of her match, but Foley makes her compete, since it was advertised in advance. Chyna beats her with the X-Factor. Angle and Jarrett clash at Slammiversary in the equivalent of a Hell in a Cell match, with weapons easily accessible, to finish the feud. Not really sure what to call it, since Hell in a Cell is taken. I'm thinking a cage inside Hell in a Cell, and it's a "Double Prison" match. Kennel from Hell but with weapons around the ring instead of dogs... and hopefully a better outcome.

And for the main event, Anderson waits until Sting and RVD are exhausted to make his mark with a lead pipe to both of them. He thinks that since he's the #1 Contender, RVD won't get a rematch. He's wrong because Slammiversary will be King of the Mountain with Sting, RVD, Anderson, Scott Steiner, and Matt Morgan. The latter two earn their way in with qualification matches.

And that's what I'd do for the card. I'll be back later for coverage on how it actually goes down.
