Questions on why Nexus was changed, Headlining Mania vs. being World Champion, Rock's birthday Raw, Rock as #1 Contender, and TNA-Chyna, more Impact Wrestling press, Tough Enough in Canada, TNA billboards near WWE HQ, new faces in WWE, Hogan interview, more WWE business talk, Smackdown rating in the US and Australia, pictures of the new Impact (Wrestling) Zone, WWE changes the name of a PPV, and guests on next week's Tough Enough

First things first, someone wants to know why WWE changed Nexus. Presumably they thought it had run its course and/or wanted to go in a different direction with it. The bottom line for WWE is always what they think is the best idea for business.

PWInsider.com also has some new questions up.

1. In addition to what they said, yes... main eventing WrestleMania is more important than being World Heavyweight Champion. Even if there's only 1 World Title match a month, that's 12 chances to be in the World Title picture. Co-headlining WrestleMania only comes around once a year. There have been more World Champions than Mania headliners, so it's a more elite club to be in.

2. WWE knows that having The Rock means ratings, and they wanted to make the most of his appearance. I personally enjoyed the show as a one-time break away from the typical Raw.

3. The match has already been made official as Rock vs. Cena. It doesn't matter if Cena's WWE Champion or not. It's a done deal. Why would they kick Rock out of a signed match just because Cena's champion? As for what they said, I too think that having the WWE Title on the line in a different match would be beneficial, but I can also see the argument that it would make Cena vs. Rock (and the WWE Title in general) even bigger.

More answers and news after the break, starting with why TNA brought in Chyna.
4. What they said. Yes, there are downsides to pushing people with drug problems. Serious ones. But there's also the possible benefit of that name value drawing some casual fans in to see the product. I'm not sure that I'd make the same decision they did, but I see what they're going for. Any time someone wonders "why did this wrestling company do this?", it's almost certainly "they think it's a good idea for business, even if we disagree".

#5 isn't something I'm very familiar with, so I'll move on.

TNA has a press release about the official launch of Impact Wrestling on Thursday, along with a preview of the show.

Speaking of press releases, here's the one for Tough Enough on Canada's Fight Network.

TNA has purchased 4-5 billboards in the Stamford, CT area to push Impact Wrestling, including one a block from WWE's headquarters. I really hope this was done for reasons other than "check us out, we're standing up to WWE". Ideally they'd put billboards in places that would best promote the product to an audience that isn't familiar with it. Though, this did get them some buzz online.

Someone new is expected to be on WWE TV this week, either in-person or via promo. No word on who it is yet. A number of callups from FCW could be incoming.

Hulk Hogan commented on getting back in the ring and why fans aren't buying TNA PPVs. Maybe someone misinterpreted something, but he didn't really answer why the TV viewers aren't buying the PPVs.

WWE's CFO gave a presentation recently, detailed here. It all sounds good to me, though the part about business not being down from 10 years ago needs more explanation I think.

Smackdown did a 1.72 rating on Friday night. While the NBA playoffs certainly had an impact, part of it could also be that people who were treated as fairly big deals on Smackdown (Rey, Del Rio, Kofi) are now on Raw, and some people who weren't treated as seriously on Raw (DiBiase, Henry, Khali) are now on Smackdown.

On Australian TV, Smackdown drew 28,000 viewers while Raw drew 20,000. NXT and Superstars didn't crack the top 100, drawing less than 20,000. Impact is currently not on the air there.

PWInsider.com has a much anticipated look at the redesigned Impact (Wrestling) Zone.

WWE has changed the name of Bragging Rights to "WWE Uprising". It should be noted that Bragging Rights didn't do so well in the past, so a format change is very possible.

The Rock and Psych's James Roday will be the guests on the next episode of Tough Enough.

That's all for Monday's news. More to come tomorrow!
