Jake Roberts update, Interviews with Sabin/Cesaro/BNB/Bryan, NXT name injured and Questions on cutting back PPVs, the Attitude Era, Robbie E/Brooke, Tamina, and Rollins' finisher

Jake Roberts has been sedated and put on a ventilator to aid in getting oxygen to his lungs. He continues to fight double pneumonia. I hope he pulls through.

Chris Sabin talked about wanting to go to WWE, being TNA Champion and more. He got really hosed as champion.

Cesaro talked before Raw. It's a real shame the association with Heyman didn't do him much good. He could have really excelled post-WM30. Fans were (and still are) hungry for newer names moving up the card.

Everything else from Sunday is after the break.

Bad News Barrett talked about his status and more. He's another guy who's showing promise. With some more experience and tutelage, he'll be great. A Barrett/Neville tag team would be something to see. They complement each other really well.

Daniel Bryan talked before Summerslam. I'd almost prefer not to hear from him until he's close to returning. It keeps reminding me he's on the shelf.

NXT star Solomon Crowe was injured at a recent live event. I hope we're not in for a Chris Hero situation where he comes in with a lot of hype, but never makes it to the main roster.

For my take on Sunday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. PPVs are still a big moneymaker for WWE. It's just they're now moneymakers for the Network more so than cable outlets. I don't see WWE drastically cutting back on them as long as they draw in their current state.

2. There were a lot of things that made the Attitude Era work and the ratings successes of that era possible. While things could absolutely be better and WWE needs to work on that, I don't think we're realistically in for a repeat of that era's success anytime soon. WWE has a lot more competition now in the entertainment marketplace. Conversely, they have no major opposition as a "sports entertainment" company, so they remain at the top of their class. Without a strong competitor nipping at his heels, Vince will generally keep to what he wants to do.

3. I'm sure TNA would love for there to be a ratings bump from them being on "Amazing Race". I don't think they'll actually be pushed, though. It could be more of a publicity grab than an honest effort to add viewers. I do wonder how many fans are really added to the wrestling world with all these celebrity crossovers and appearances in other shows, etc..

4. I'm curious to see how she'll do when she returns. At the very least, I'd like to see her work with some of the NXT names to up their games.

5. That's a very valid point. I think WWE's in some ways possibly playing off that for Rollins. Or they could be totally ignorant of its connotations. "Black Out" was a great name for it, but it doesn't work with his WWE name as well.

More wrestling tomorrow.
