Set for Smackdown, BFG updates on Wolves/3D/Lashley, Mathews update, '50s/'60s wrestler passes, Reigns' replacement, where's Holly now?, Interview with Sheamus, Lesnar update, WWE hires new announcer, former tag champion leaving WWE?, Devitt gets WWE name, and Questions on Bryan, Spike-TNA, WWE's pre-shows, Vince's favorites, and Roman Reigns

Set for this week's Smackdown:
- Big Show vs. Rusev
- The Miz vs. Dean Ambrose
- Battle Royal to face Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship
- WWE Tag Team Championship: Stardust and Goldust vs. The Usos
- Layla and Summer Rae vs. Natalya and Rosa Mendes
- Dolph Ziggler vs. the battle royal winner for the Intercontinental Championship

That's not a bad lineup. It's missing a number of major WWE players, though.

The Wolves will not be a part of Bound For Glory due to Davey Richards' injuries. Team 3D, howver, will be in what could be their final TNA appearance. Devon will be appearing on pre-taped shows past that date, but his contract ends at BFG.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

There are expected to be seven or eight matches for BFG, with some possibly being announced by the end of the week. Finally!

TNA Champion Lashley is not currently advertised for Bound For Glory. This might as well be a One Night Only PPV. It certainly doesn't feel like the biggest TNA show of the year.

Former WWE announcer Josh Mathews is now officially part of TNA. He began working behind-the-scenes after his no-compete clause expired. TNA's already taped through some point in November, so we won't be seeing him on TV for a while, but he is there. I'm glad! I think he's a good pick-up by the company.

Don Manoukian, who wrestled during the territory days, has passed away. It's hard to believe the territory days are so far gone.

Big Show is replacing Roman Reigns on all advertised appearances. The ride never stops!

WWE.com checked in on Hardcore Holly. I do miss goofy 24/7 Hardcore matches. I kind of wish TNA would bring that back to differentiate itself from WWE.

WWE got press for doing Smackdown in Little Rock. I'm surprised Vince never signed a small wrestler to be a mini-version of Dwayne Johnson using that name.

Sheamus did an interview. I wouldn't consider him too much of a main roster veteran (compared to Cena, Orton, Show, etc.), but he certainly has a solid amount of experience.

Brock Lesnar isn't currently advertised for Hell in a Cell. Some expected him to face Cena again there. It's going to be a long road to Mania in some ways with Brock only around some of the time, and both Bryan and Reigns hurt. I definitely don't look forward to seeing more of Cena and Show to make up for the injuries.

Canadian broadcaster Arda Ocal has been signed to WWE under the name Kyle Edwards. Edwards is very knowledgeable about the product, previously working with Renee Young. Absolutely great signing. I hope he goes far in the company. Cut JBL and King already and make use of some of the names working lower-tier shows.

Justin Gabriel made a post on Instagram suggesting he could soon be done with WWE. I hope that's not the case, as he's a really solid competitor. It's a shame he doesn't have great mic skills, because he's one heck of an athlete. I hate how WWE goes back to the same names while a lot of talented undercard performers end up having to leave for one reason or another.

"Prince" Fergal Devitt will now be known as Finn Balor in NXT. While that's not a great name, at least it means we'll be seeing him debut there soon. He has a really strong reputation for his previous work, and I hope he goes quite far in WWE.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I'm not as sure he was going down a bad path (although there were certainly things I wasn't crazy about during the Kane angle). I'm sure there still would have been a lot of complaints about his booking pretty much no matter what they did with him, but I don't necessarily think he would have fared poorly. He beat Kane in an Extreme Rules match after a pretty big push for Kane. That doesn't sound like they were getting him out of the title picture.

2. More advertisement on non-TNA shows would almost certainly help, but TNA has also brought in a lot of name-value performers who didn't result in a big boost in ratings. It's not all a Spike thing.

Nothing to really add to 3. It's just a cost-cutting thing.

4. That's pretty much it! He's going with talents who have been successful in the past. But at some point he had to have taken a risk with those talents to get over when they weren't already over, and he has to do the same to performers like Bray, Ziggler, etc. if they're going to be taken as top names.

5. It's definitely too early to assume Reigns will be the next guy, but there's hope he does succeed to a large degree!

More wrestling tomorrow.
