More NXT names work live events, Jake Roberts update and Questions on Raw's season premiere, suing WWE, the WWE HoF, the internet, and wrestlers' goals

The team of Big E and Kofi Kingston (accompanied by Xavier Woods) defeated NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension at a recent live event. It might just be about time for them to be called up. Dropping the titles at Takeover would be a good indication of them being on the short list of coming to the main roster.

Also on the same set of live events, NXT's Sami Zayn beat Tyson Kidd. I'm sure that one was really something. Sami's definitely the top name down there as far as whom I've seen compete. Kenta, Devitt, Steen, Crowe, and Willie Mack have yet to be tested on the NXT TV show so I can't really say anything about them.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Jake Roberts has been released from the hospital as he continues to recover from double pneumonia. He was well enough to appear at a local indie event, which is a great sign. He's expected to stay in Vegas to continue recovering before he flies home to Georgia.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Yeah, they're just trying to get buzz for the show. They do have some big elements in play for the episode (that they actually hyped ahead of time), so it's more justified to give it a special label. It fits in with other shows premiering/returning, so I'll give them something of a pass here.

2. I do think it's justified for a lot of people to have been under the impression WWE was going to walk out with a much better TV deal (and number of Network subscriptions) than what ended up happening, given the statements made by WWE execs. I'm not sure what legalities are involved here, so I can't say much other than that as far as whether someone should sue.

3. Sting or Savage. Taker can go in next year in Texas.

4. The internet world of 1999 was quite different from the world of 2014. It wasn't nearly as prevalent of a medium as it is now, at least with the speed it now has. There also wasn't anything at the level of the social media that exist now. I definitely think the Internet has really changed things. Now it's very easy to find a lot of wrestling and a lot of information about wrestling. This wasn't as true fifteen years ago. As for the question, I do think a lot of fans "ruin" some things in their quest to know (and be right) about everything. But it's up to each individual fan how much they spoil themselves as far as backstage news and such goes, as well as how much non-WWE wrestling they watch.

5. I think the ultimate goal is to get booked a lot in meaningful roles. The champion isn't always the one who gets the most money or bookings (though this is usually the case). Working a big name in the main event of Mania is probably better than working a WWE Title match that's a few notches lower on the card.

More wrestling tomorrow.
