Main Event Reax - 9/9/14, what happened after Raw, HoFer at Raw, more TNA/Wrestle-1 cohesion, Y2J talks cage dive, Interviews with Stone Cold/Sandow, ROH TV in new markets, Spike exec rips Russo, Ambrose return update, more on Kenta in NXT, Batista update, Raw audience, former WWF/WCW name passes away and Questions on WWE's bottom line, legends in WWE, announcing, WarGames, and Sabin-WWE

Main Event:
Reigns vs. Rollins makes sense for the PPV. Orton vs. Jericho is a little odd, but it makes sense for both of them to have a match then. I guess Bray's facing Big Show (yay....).

That was a pretty good opening segment. My only gripe was Rollins insinuating no one cared what happened to Ambrose. Instead, he should have turned that into more heat on himself for taking the fans' hero away from them.

Pretty good match between Swagger and Rollins. I think the right guy won, since Rollins is in the midst of a push right now.

Not a bad Slater Gator segment for their kind of comedy. I'm glad they're getting screen time, at least.

Nice showing from Cesaro to get the win. I think he'd make a great U.S. Champion (again).

Pretty good Cesaro promo. I liked the King of Wrestling reference. Sheamus vs. Cesaro should be pretty fun.

Silly, but entertaining segment with Slater Gator.

Fine match to get the fans warmed up at the taping. How long before the bunny wrestles?

It was pretty cool to see The Ascension work the main roster. I hope it's not too long before they're brought up. They're ready to get some training at the next level (vs. main roster teams).

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

After, Roman Reigns was helped to the back. WWE then had John Cena, Big Show and Mark Henry beat the Wyatt Family. That match would definitely make me want to exit the arena!

WWE Hall of Famer Nikolai Volkoff was at Raw. Naturally, they used him in a segment with Lana and Rusev to be aired online. That's pretty cool.

A number of additional Wrestle-1 talents have been booked for Bound For Glory in Japan. That's probably a good thing to boost the audience for the event there.

Chris Jericho commented on his awesome dive from the top of the cage on Raw. He can keep delivering these days, that's for sure.

Stone Cold Steve Austin talked about Vince and more. As much as I'd like to see the Stone Cold of back in the day hit stunners on everyone, it ain't happening.

Damien Sandow as "Gamien Sandow" gave an interview. It's kind of fun for him to be in all these characters. I'd rather have Sandow be successful in this role than do nothing as the intellectual character he played so well and showed so much potential in.

Sinclair Broadcasting is booking more markets for ROH TV outside where it airs now on Sinclair channels. Notably, they're now in the Atlanta market. This is a big step for ROH. I hope it adds to things for them.

The Vice President for Spike responded to Vince Russo's recent criticisms of the company. Ouch! I wouldn't be surprised if that was Russo's last run as a member of Creative. It's not like WWE will take him back.

Update: TNA and Spike are still in negotiations for a longer TV deal. The future of Impact in the States past the end of 2014 remains at stake.

Dean Ambrose is advertised for the 9/22 Raw. It's also possible he has a surprise return at Night of Champions. I'm ready for him to face Rollins inside Hell in a Cell.

Kenta will only be appearing at Takeover. He'll likely have his first match at the next TV tapings. That makes sense. The show's already pretty loaded.

Batista is planning another WWE return, but it likely won't be until 2015 or later. He was frustrated with both the creative and financial ends of his most recent run, but still wants to finish his career on his terms. Batista vs. HHH to wrap it all up at WM31 isn't a terrible idea. It's just that we've seen that match quite a bit and both men are near the end of their ropes as in-ring competitors. If we also get Sting vs. Undertaker, that's a lot of older names in the spotlight. Not to mention another part-timer headlining in Lesnar.

Raw's audience Monday was 3.99 million viewers. Going against the NFL's first games of the season, that's not a bad number.

Former WCW Tag Team Champion Sean O'Haire passed away at the age of 43. PWInsider.com has a rundown of his career and life. That's a real shame. I remember thinking he had potential during his WWE run and hoping he would live up to it. I wish his friends, family, and friends the best during this trying time.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. WWE's doing a lot to add subscribers. They were probably going to have to cut jobs regardless due to the costs of starting the Network. WWE's financial end is very complicated, and the Network is just part of the puzzle. If it doesn't work the way they want it to, they have to make cuts elsewhere.

Update: Here's a more in-depth analysis for this question.

2. I actually saw the segment as selling the danger Cena's in against Lesnar. And it wouldn't make sense for them to say Cena's just OK or what have you. WWE's trying to make sure we still see Cena as a threat after he got manhandled by Lesnar, as well as hyping him as one of the top champions of all time. Both are good business moves.

3. I certainly think so! WWE's target audience generally wasn't around for the "good old days" of announcing, but a lot of more long-term fans miss how things used to be in that regard.

4. It'd be cool and something different. It might be worth a try one year to replace the HIAC PPV, but I don't know if the powers that be would give it a shot.

5. I do think he's not a great promo and he did have injury issues, but I think it's worth giving him a tryout in NXT given his experience level at his age.

More wrestling tomorrow.
