Interviews with Rhea/Khan/Show/Cardona/Yehi, Tanahashi update, new WWE execs, AEW launching female community, wrestling content updates, NXT+Impact+Dynamite matches, Jannetty under police investigation, Impact contract update, WWE changes production schedule, Cole-McAfee angle note, Angle milestone, WWE trademarks names, and Questions on Sasha's win over Asuka, The People's XFL, Rick Steiner, and Cody as HHH

Rhea Ripley spoke to PWInsider before NXT:
- I like the idea of sympathizing with Kai's new attitude given her own journey.

- Glad things are worked out with her visa.

- I really don't think a third Mae Young Classic is coming. They've already got quite a few women signed.

-- Rhea also spoke to Comicbook.com before NXT. There's always the perception that every wrestler from a certain part of the world has wrestled every other known wrestler from that part of the world.

Hiroshi Tanahashi has been cleared to work NJPW Summer Struggle.

Tony Khan spoke on the Major Wrestling Figure podcast.

Big Show spoke on "Pardon My Take," discussing tough wrestlers.

WWE named a new president and chief revenue officer.

AEW is launching a women's wrestling fan community. AEW Heels will feature exclusive merchandise, meet-and-greets, Q&A seassions, and more.

"The Bump" next week will feature Gabriel Iglesias, Bret Hart, Big Show, Matt Riddle, and Dakota Kai discussing Summerslam memories.

NXT has announced:
- KUSHIDA vs. Cameron Grimes vs. an opponent to be named in a North American Championship contendership qualification match
- Damian Priest vs. Bronson Reed
- Karrion Kross vs. Danny Burch

Marty Jannetty is being investigated by Georgia police after a since-deleted Facebook post indicated he "made a man disappear" when he was 13. That's a very disturbing event. I don't know what Jannetty needs in his life right now, but I hope he gets on the right path.

Eric Young has signed an exclusive contract with Impact. That's a natural home for him.

WWE has changed its production schedule due to only taping one episode of Smackdown this week. They will now tape Smackdown's August 14 episode on August 13, as well as the August 17 Raw. This changes recent plans to keep Raw and Smackdown crews separate as a COVID precaution. WWE really feels haphazardly managed right now, to a greater extent than normal.

Pat McAfee and Adam Cole "made amends" before NXT. I'm not sure what that was supposed to accomplish before their TV appearance.

Metallica's "Moth Into Flame" is the theme for Takeover: XXX. Metallica getting paid! It does feel a little out of place on NXT to feature a band that was releasing music before some of their wrestlers were born, though.

UFC Performance Institute leader James Kimball is joining WWE in a corporate capacity. Wow! Interesting shift.

Kurt Angle celebrated seven years of sobriety. Very proud of him for that.

Byron Saxton is on the latest "After The Bell."

Emergence has added Motor City Machine Guns vs. The North for the Impact Tag Team Championship. It's unknown which night that will air.

Impact next week has added Jessicka Havok and Nevaeh vs. Keira Hogan and Tasha Steelz in a no DQ match.

Matt Cardona appeared on Busted Open Radio.

Fred Yehi spoke to POST Wrestling.

WWE has trademarked the names Drew Gulak, Pete Dunne, Dexter Lumis, Jordan Devlin, and Tony Nese. That presumably bodes well for those names.

Dynamite has announced:
- FTR's Tag Team Appreciation Night, honoring The Rock 'n' Roll Express, Arn Anderson, and Tully Blanchard
- Chris Jericho vs. Orange Cassidy
- Cody vs. Scorpio Sky for the TNT Championship
- Kenny Omega and Hangman Page vs. Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy for the Tag Team Championship
- Young Bucks vs. Evil Uno and Stu Grayson

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It was devious and underhanded, as heels are. It also saved Asuka from doing a job in the traditional sense. Had she tapped, someone would send in a question about her being "buried."

2. It's a shame we probably won't get "Finally The Rock has come back to football" and other such antics. He's making it very clear he's the businessman first.

3. He's also on the local school board, as insane as that sounds.

4. I'm going to take exception to the "normal looking women" thing as it's not like the current stars aren't attractive! But yes that was something Triple H and Stephanie pushed for.

5. Cody has not been booked nearly as prominently for nearly the length of time Triple H was. Also, Cody's only 35, so it's not really the same situation. We'll see how things look down the line.

More wrestling tomorrow.
