More names to GFW, more NXT live events in the works, special for next week's Impact, Impact changing nights, NXT live event notes, Smackdown audience, updates on several WWE names, former Creative member passes away, and Questions on Sorensen in the ring, HHH in Philly, the IC Title, and Bryan's book

Also booked for upcoming GFW shows are Trent Baretta, Chuck Taylor, Scott Hall, and Shelton Benjamin. Some names will just work certain events, while some are booked regularly. I'm impressed by how many names they've gotten to work there. I hope the concept takes off.

Triple H is planning NXT live events for the UK. That's huge! I'm guessing that will be something they put on the next time the main roster is there. I assume they won't do NXT shows in Japan for the upcoming tour with both Balor and Owens working the main roster.

Next week's episode of Impact Wrestling will be a showing of Slammiversary 2014 in its entirety. They're doing a special then because of Memorial Day weekend possibly affecting viewership. It's not like it can get much lower! I'd rather see fresh content, but that would mean TNA had to tape more stuff and, you know, pay its talent for more work.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Impact Wrestling could be moving to Wednesdays for the summer to try to get better ratings. They probably should. I'd personally prefer them to be on Tuesdays given how much wrestling there already is on Wednesdays, but it's not my call.

Update: TNA made it official. It was definitely time to re-evaluate the Friday night experiment. I hope June brings them a bigger audience.

Update: Impact will go up against one hour of Smackdown in Canada. Ouch. Impact will now be its own post on Wednesdays, following a post of NXT and Main Event. Superstars will be part of Saturday's news post.

WWE officials are said to have been really high on how the NXT show in Philly went. I'm glad to hear it. They were particularly proud of Charlotte and Sasha Banks closing the show and getting  standing ovation.

Update: Mick Foley put the show over. I'm glad it's getting so much buzz.

Update: The Blue Meanie, Danny Doring, and CZW owner DJ Hyde were visiting. I would have loved a Blue Meanie cameo.

Smackdown's audience Thursday night was 2.53 million. A decent number. I assume they'll do better on USA.

Daniel Bryan will not be at Payback or the shows following. He'll be back home concentrating on physical therapy. He isn't expected back until he recovers enough to wrestle or it's time to promote his autobiography. I hope we're still in for a long run for Bryan after so many years sacrificing to make it to the top of WWE.

Paige is expected back shortly following the filming of her WWE movie. Does she prevent Naomi from becoming Divas' Champion?

Big Show is expected back at this week's TV tapings. I'm just glad he was gone as long as he was. Not looking forward to his return.

The Miz is also expected back sometime in the next month. I wonder what he does now that Sandow's safely entrenched in the lower-card.

A former member of WWE Creative passed away at 44. That's really a shame. That's supposed to see middle age!

At the second night of NXT in Philadelphia, Joey Styles managed Tommy Dreamer in a loss to Baron Corbin. That's a pretty cool cameo. Dreamer is a producer in TNA, but is able to take wrestling bookings.

Update: Here are the full results from the show:
- Enzo and Cass have the potential to be the next 3MB or Santino comedy-wise. They're really funny.

- Why is Dana facing Alexa? They're both heels! They need the practice, though.

- I'm ready for Tye Dillinger to do something worthwhile. I feel like he's been languishing in developmental for a while now.

- Crowe and Jordan make an interesting team. I'm glad WWE tried something out there, because they need to figure out how to make Crowe work out. He was successful pre-WWE for a reason, and they need to get that to fit in with their way of doing things.

- Clever of Owens to heel it up for the Philly crowd.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think his retirement had to do with getting out of TNA. Now that he's free from there, he's apparently cleared to compete. That wasn't going to happen in TNA.

2. Yeah, I think he would have gotten a pretty great reaction from NXT fans there to see an NXT show. It's not even the ECW Arena anymore. And old-school ECW fans should be appreciative of what we're getting in NXT. Young talents with a lot of experience either on the indies or internationally there to do great wrestling matches along with a couple of veterans who are there exclusively to help out the next generation of stars? Sounds pretty ECW to me.

3. Santino Marella, definitely. He was well on his way to breaking the Honky Tonk Man's record! Seriously, though, I think the title has been meaningful for talents when WWE has used it to elevate those talents. Curtis Axel, Big E, The Miz, etc. have benefited recently from holding it. To say it's irrelevant is an overstatement.

4. I really hope the rumors about AJ's role in his career being limited aren't true. She was an important factor in getting him to that next level as a character. I still think his heel turn as World Champion was one of my favorites ever.

Nothing to add to 5.

More wrestling tomorrow.
