Main Event Reax - 6/2/18, Interviews with Callis/Catanzaro, Something Else to Wrestle With topic, assorted WWE press, Purrazzo's final indie date set?, NXT release, Callihan calls out Y2J and gets a response, Backlash rematch at MITB, SDL segment set, SDL live event note, and Questions on Impact favoring Twitch to GWN, Nia going from bullied to bully, ring announcers, and using replica belts at live events

-- Main Event:
- Akira vs. Nese:
Fine start.

Both men are impressive here.

I like Nese hamming it up here.

This is pretty solid.

Surprising win. I always expect the face to go over on Main Event.

- Jose vs. Mojo:
I like Mojo making the most of this opportunity.

Nice aggression here. This could have been a total comedy match.

Mojo's doing well as a serious heel.

This is pretty solid.

Nice work overall.

Don Callis put over Impact stars on Busted Open. Hopefully that helped build the company's reputation.

"Something Else to Wrestle With" this week will focus on WWE's ECW brand. I maintain the brand was underrated, especially once it became a step between FCW and Raw or Smackdown with some veteran wrestlers thrown in the mix. It definitely had its awkward moments when it was a combination of old ECW stars and Vince McMahon's vision.

Stephanie McMahon will be on WWE's Undercover Boss episode.

NXT's Kacy Catanzaro discussed moving from "American Ninja Warrior" to WWE. I look forward to seeing her athleticism in action.

Deonna Purrazzo is booked for Beyond Wrestling vs. CHIKARA on July 14. That could be her final indie appearance before joining the WWE Performance Center.

NXT has released Zeda, after slightly more than a year in the WWE Performance Center. Her last match seems to have been in March. Hopefully she'll be able to make something happen elsewhere. This could be part of "making room" for signings from the second Mae Young Classic.

Sami Callihan called out All In and Chris Jericho's cruise for not booking him, essentially using Impact to promote himself to get bookings by other parties. Obviously it got people talking and played out like a "shoot," but it kind of pointed out Impact being a less prestigious destination than the other places mentioned.

- Chris Jericho responded, so maybe Callihan will get his wish to be booked somewhere else.

Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass has been booked for Money in the Bank. I think we all know how that one will go. I think they're more or less filling time until Bryan can get into the WWE Title picture at Summerslam.

Natalya raised awareness of women's Alzheimer's alongside Maria Shriver. Natalya has been an awesome ambassador for WWE.

Xavier Woods appeared in a gaming video with IGN and Kinda Funny. He's really been successful with his channel.

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura will have a contract signing on Smackdown Live. So, you know, someone's going through the table and staying down for a count of ten.

SAnitY have begun working SDL live events, working with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. This weekend, the faces won via DQ due to a run-in, leading to a three-on-two beatdown. I hope SAnitY does good things on TV when they finally make it. I'd love to see them face the Bludgeon Brothers.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Basically GWN was Jarrett's idea and part of a greater strategy to align with other promotions. Once he was out of the picture, the new team got the Twitch deal, and that's the new focus. Putting Impact content on a service like that is a fine idea, but I don't know how much of a demand there is for it in 2018.

2. Maybe it's a commentary on how those who are bullied often continue the cycle by bullying others?? Nah, they just shifted Nia as a heel to go against Ronda. I think she's more natural as a heel, but I was all for pushing her as a face after that angle. All that said, they could have done a heck of a double turn at Mania with Nia "going too far" to get revenge on Alexa, whom the audience wants to cheer anyway.

3. Finkel is classic. He's pretty much the model for wrestling ring announcers now.

4. I've got to mention Michael Buffer as well as Tony Chimel's RATED R SOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUPERSTARRRRRRRR.

5. Yes, they keep the "real" belts for on-screen, and let the replicas potentially get dinged up on live events.

More wrestling tomorrow.
