WWE Studios planning more non-wrestling content, NXT:UK name working BOLA, AAA-MSG show postponed, WWE-NOAH update, NJPW U.S. notes, indie name drops title to get surgery, PROGRESS teaming with U.S. indies this summer, Alberto in lawsuit, MYC returnees confirmed, remembering Vader and HIAC, WWE tryout attendees, and Questions on Summerslam's Universal Title match, cruisers leaving Raw, Impact names as free agents, Impact still running PPVs, and why Cornette has detractors

WWE Studios is looking at doing more reality shows and documentaries after the success of the Andre the Giant HBO special. That could really be a big move for them outside the wrestling bubble.

- We could also see scripted comedies and drama shows from WWE Studios in the future. I'm curious how that would work.

NXT:UK star Travis Banks will be working PWG's Battle of Los Angeles. Presumably that's OK because the show won't be broadcast live.

AAA will likely not run MSG in 2018, as they were looking for a TV deal and sponsorship for the event. They do hope to run the venue in 2019. WWE has not sought to stop them from doing so.

Hideo Itami's NOAH match is currently the only interaction between WWE and that company. It was likely a case of NOAH making a special financial offer to use Itami for the show. We'll see if anything else comes from the two companies working together.

A NJPW mobile game is being released this summer. I'm curious how that will work out.

NJPW is planning another U.S. show, but the date and location aren't set in stone yet. They've got to be careful not to wear the crowd out. They're a long way from selling out the Cow Palace, but tickets are priced to where they'll get a large gate from the tickets already sold.

NJPW honored Vader on their June 23 show. Great to see that.

NJPW's G-1 special's final three days are having tickets available for international fans to fly in. I'm curious how that will work.

LuFisto dropped her Shine championship to undergo surgery next month. I hope for the best for her.

PROGRESS will tour with EVOLVE and Defy in August.

Alberto El Patron is involved in a lawsuit relating to a November 2016 incident at a karaoke bar, where both sides claim they were injured in a brawl resulting from a fan approaching Paige for a picture and Paige telling her no. This escalated into a physical altercation between Alberto and a male friend of the female fan where Alberto alleges he had a concussion and lacerations to the head due to a glass being thrown at him. The other party also said he needed medical attention after the incident.

Toni Storm, Mia Yim, Mercedes Martinez, and Rhea Ripley have all been confirmed for the second Mae Young Classic. I REALLY want to see them pick Yim up this year.

Jim Cornette discussed Vader on his most recent podcast.

Mick Foley and official Tim White remembered Mankind's famous 1998 Hell in a Cell match.

At WWE's most recent Performance Center tryouts:
- Chelsea Green/Laurel Van Ness
- Max Castor, a Northeastern star trained by Curt Hawkins and Pat Buck
- Duke football player Shaquille Powell
- Robbie E
- Former NFL players TJ Barnes and Dorin R. Dickerson
- La Rosa Negra
- Rory Gulak (Drew's brother)
- 3.0 (Scott Parker and Big Magic/Shane Matthews)
- Thomas Sharpe/Blaster McMassive
- Jake Omen
- Duke wrestler Jacob Kasper
- Adam Payne, an independent wrestler from New Jersey
- Wardlow
- Former football player and YouTube name Brendan Griffin
- Max Castellanos, an independent wrestler from Texas

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I think we're in for Roman vs. Brock, with Braun potentially cashing in to prevent a riot.

2. It works out better for both sides not to have meaningless matches and 30-second promos on Raw. Now the cruiserweights are more special and we get to see some underutilized Raw talents more on their show.

3. Impact actually encourages it in a sense because if talent can keep working other dates, too, they're likely to stay with Impact on the occasions they run tapings and shows.

4. I'm under the impression they still have contracts in international markets that require them to put on a certain number of PPVs a year. Most of this is covered by One Night Only events, but they occasionally do a bigger show, too.

5. Anyone that loud and opinionated is going to alienate people. Then there's the whole threatening to kill Vince Russo and Brock Lesnar/slapping Sanitno business. It's definitely not just "he tells it like it is." The man is volatile.

More wrestling tomorrow.
