Main Event Reax - 6/29/18, Interviews with Adam Cole/Charlotte, WWN name on NXT, SDL Japan live event notes, Foley tapes Network special, MLW getting two-hour TV special next month, Impact audience, Vince plans big XFL investment, Ronda return update, HBK replaced at con, a lot more WWEPC tryout names, what happened after BITW, BITW dark match, and Questions on Vader in WWWF, broadcasting All In, PPVs on Sunday, another Field of Honor, and airing video packages live

- Gable vs. Kanellis:
Gable is being so wasted right now.

Chad's wrestling circles around Mike here.

Pretty fun.

- Roode/Breezango vs. Hawkins/Ascension:
Wow. Roode's already stuck on Main Event. Not a good sign.

Pretty basic stuff.

Funny ending sequence. 0-205.

ESPN covered Adam Cole's EVOLVE title defense.

Max Humberto on NXT this week won that spot due to a WWN tryout. He's currently trying out at the WWE Performance Center.

Shinsuke Nakamura was unable to compete at Smackdown Live's Japanese event. He came out on a crutch, with Samoa Joe mocking him leading to AJ confronting Joe. AJ retained the WWE Championship against Joe in the main event.

- Hideo Itami defeated Shelton Benjamin on the June 29 show.

Mick Foley did a WWE Network special about it being twenty years since his famous Hell in a Cell match, featuring Jeremy Borash and Daffney. The show will air on WWE Network in September after this year's HIAC event.

MLW Battle Riot will air on beIN Sports as a two-hour special. There was discussion about it being a traditional PPV, but ultimately they decided to do it as a longer episode. Presumably that means the MLW-beIN relationship is going quite well.

Impact drew 254,000 viewers Thursday night. We'll see if they get another boost after Slammiversary.

Vince McMahon expects to spend $500 million on XFL's first three seasons. In other words, he's incredibly dedicated to getting it off the ground. It will be significant to see what that means for WWE, as that's a very significant figure.

Ronda Rousey is expected to return the night after Extreme Rules. She'll be making her currently advertised appearances, including July 7 in Madison Square Garden. So basically she's just suspended from TV and Extreme Rules...

Shawn Michaels has been pulled from Wales Comic Con in December. The Bar and Dolph Ziggler will be appearing in his place. That's an interesting substitution.

Charlotte Flair talked to ESPN about being in their Body magazine. She's becoming quite the focal point for WWE.

The following additional names have been confirmed for WWE's recent tryouts:
- Amateur wrestlers Davin Addison, Philip Brandt, Greg Kasper, and Spencer Myers
- Basketball player Britani Birchmeier
- Rugby players Tom Dempsey and Jarryd Kinerson Smith
- Actor/gymnast/cheerleader Kelsey Hornack
- Football players Seth Manzanares, Brandon Moore, Sunny Odogwu, Omari Palmer, and Roston Tatum
- Soccer player Ricardo Miller
- Fitness model Wioletta Anna Paz
- STARDOM/WOH competitor Gabby Ortiz
- D-Von Dudley's sons Terrence and Terrell Hughes
- Impact wrestler Ava Storie
- Heidi Katrina
- Chicago independent wrestler Mike Fierro
- Omar Amir
- Dani Mo
- Colorado independent wrestler Hunter Grey
-- As always, WWE pulled from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. It will be interesting to see who joins the Performance Center from this group.

After Best in the World ended, Dalton Castle cut a promo and Cody shook his hand before helping him to the back. I'm surprised Dalton walked away with the title, although some think it's so the ROH Champion doesn't lose to the IWGP Champion in the Cow Palace. In other words, we could see a title switch before All In after all.

The Dawgs beat The Boys before Best in the World.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I don't see any record of them having a match together, so it must have been someone else.

2. That's all still coming together. This is something they're putting on with no experience while also wrestling full-time, so it's not going to be as seamless and quick as WWE does things.

3. Yes, it's so it can directly lead to Raw the next night.

4. No movement on that idea.

5. Presumably it's supposed to hype the live crowd and the TV crowd up about the feud continuing. Sometimes these video packages play so the crew can change the ring for the next segment/match.

More wrestling tomorrow.
