Main Event Reax - 6/9/18, NJPW Dominion notes, WWE Network show updates, indie announces TV tapings, another WWE-Special Olympics connection, WWE:UK matches taped, legend's son continuing training, MITB PPV match set for Raw, Punk UFC fallout, Ronda in UFC HoF, Enzo set for wrestling shows, WWE live event notes, and Questions on WWE dropping soap opera aspects, Enzo's announcement, Cole burying the Woken Universe, and Itami dropping the GTS

-- Main Event:
- Jose vs. Kanellis:
Kanellis just seems to pop up here and there. He'll never reach Hawkins' streak at this pace.

Fine work early.

OK for the time it had. Nothing particularly remarkable. But hey, Mike's paid on time now.

- Akira vs. Gulak:
This is already more exciting than the previous match.

These two work together pretty well. Both men are smooth.

I like Drew's killer instinct.

Fine work here.

I'm loving all the submissions and maneuvering.

Good work!!

At NJPW Dominion:
- The Young Bucks defeated EVIL and SANADA to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship. After the match, they invited Don Callis to All In.
- Rey Mysterio debuted in a six-man tag with Jushin "Thunder" Liger and Hiroshi Tanahashi in a loss to Bullet Club's Cody, Marty Scurll, and Hangman Page.
- Chris Jericho defeated Tetsuya Naito to win the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, attacking the former champion's bloody eye after the match and using the title as a weapon. That's an unexpected result, and makes me wonder how long he'll stick around. Could we see him defend the title at All In?
- Kenny Omega defeated Kazuchika Okada to become IWGP Heavyweight Champion in a match that went past an hour. After the match, Omega said winning the title was his final goal. It's expected he'll defend against Cody in the Cow Palace. A historical event all around.

- Xavier Woods and Matt Hardy shouted out new champions. I hope there's no heat on them for congratulating their friends. Heck, we could see those names come to WWE before too much longer anyway.

"WWE Photo Shoot" after Raw will feature Goldust. He hasn't been on live events in a few weeks. I assume he's resting up.

"WWE Marquee Matches" this week will have three Money In The Bank matches: Daniel Bryan's 2011 win on Tuesday, Seth Rollins' 2014 win on Wednesday, and Baron Corbin's 2017 win on Thursday. I hope this year's winner is more like the first two.

"Something Else to Wrestle With" will focus on AJ Styles this week. You know, if there aren't creative differences.

Ring Warriors will tape TV on August 8 and August 9, featuring a tournament to declare a new Grand Champion. Austin Aries, Willie Mack, Marty the Moth, Wes Brisco, Michael Tarver, The Hotshots of Chase Stevens and Cassidy Riley, Luke Hawx, Melissa Anderson, and Santana Garrett have all been announced for the two nights.

The Special Olympics torch came to WWE headquarters. WWE does a lot of good things for that organization.

WWE:UK's tournament's first round has been taped, and will be shown on WWE's digital channels soon.

Rey Mysterio's son is set to train at Lance Storm's wrestling school later in the year. That's cool. I hope Dominick can become even a tenth as successful as his father, and I hope he's making the most of the opportunities his last name has granted him.

Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal is set for Raw, six nights before they'll face off at Money in the Bank.

C.M. Punk underwent a CT scan on his face after his UFC bout, where he lost via decision after three rounds. More on Punk in tomorrow's news post.

Ronda Rousey has been named to the UFC Hall of Fame. She's been a huge star for them.

The former Enzo Amore, now going by Real1, is booked for a New York indie event on August 17. It's unknown what his role will be on the show. Real1 is also set for Eternal Con next weekend, replacing Scott Hall. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for him in wrestling, especially since he can't use his WWE ring name.

Roman Reigns and AJ Styles had this weekend off from live events.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. As Vince focuses more on the XFL, it's possible the writers get to take things in a different direction. Of course, only so much can be different when the writers are hired from soap operas and movies in the first place.

2. An explicit rap video blasting wrestling fans and his accuser. It's the start of a new career.

3. It could definitely be a case of WWE not "getting it," which is kind of fair given how weird it is.

4. He could end up bringing it back at some point if WWE trusts him to do it again.

5. Hey, if you want to tell him he has to cover them, be my guest.

More wrestling tomorrow.
