More on Grisham's departure, Maryse update, Questions on Sin Cara, salaries, the Hardys, and using another performer's move, more from Matt Hardy and friends including hospital visit, Joey Styles talks about NXT Season 5, Miz meets Goldberg, new ShopTNA, Hart talks to WWE.com, Sheamus appearance, Hogan interview, long Nash interview, another Smackdown house show canceled, Helms comments on Hardys. and new WWE film gets website

Todd Grisham begins at ESPN on 10/1. They've got to put him with Coachman at some point. It's just too natural. But as I've mentioned, he's not the most exciting guy to listen to. I think he could work in that environment though.

Update: Grisham talked about his departure on Twitter, as did fellow WWE to ESPN transplant Jonathan Coachman.

Maryse went in to treat her hernia today. I hope she got good news.

On to PWInsider.com's questions:
1. Yes, he'll learn that he sells a lot of merchandise for someone who hasn't been on the roster for all that long and is pretty over. I don't think it 100% ruins them if they have an extensive background working a similar style to what WWE does, but in general I think they'll want people to get training there still.

2. It varies, a lot. How high on the card you are and so on. In TNA, some wrestlers get a standard amount each year while others get paid on a per-appearance basis (and generally make a lot less).

After the break, I look at the rest of the day's news and questions, starting with a look at who's been signed to TNA since the new regime gained control.
3. It's been a mixed bag to say the least. Here's a look at them (though Bischoff and Hogan might not be specifically who signed them):
It's a little too soon to evaluate the new X-Divisioners, so I'll hold off on them.
Anarquia's been ok but not amazing. He'd be really lost without the Mexican America gimmick I think. Crimson's been damn solid once he got his "ring legs". Still could go further but I like his future.
Gunner's had his moments. A good midcarder who could be something someday.
Jeff Hardy's had his ups and disappointing downs, though not all of that's TNA's "fault". All in all, though, a big signing.
They've shown signs of seeing Anderson as a main eventer, and then depushed him. His acts wearing pretty thin with me, and I see why WWE didn't push him this hard.
Murphy's been close to persona non grata; pretty much just another mass of muscle.
Okada feels like dead weight. They don't really use him and he's not really marketable.
Robbie E and Cookie... well, pretty much flopped. Their gimmick was kind of funny in a kitsch way, but needs a revamp.
RVD's been a boost in the name value and workrate department. Good signing.
Shannon Moore: meh. Nothing really bad, but he's not really a big deal there.
Flair's basically done more harm than good to his legacy outside of feuds with Lethal and Roode. Even those events were last gasps of a tank going towards empty.
Miss Tessmacher, in addition to being hot, has been a good addition to the Knockouts division. She still has a ways to go (and "Ass-tastic"'s kind of dumb) but I've been impressed by her.
Mickie James has added credibility and name value as a big factor in the Knockouts Division.
Rosita's starting to come around.
As for Traci, ODB, and Jackie, it remains to be seen. The latter two haven't exactly made me want to see them full-time.
As for those who aren't there anymore:
The ECW crew were mostly there for the nostalgia pop, and were rightfully discarded once that was over.
Bubba The Love Sponge: Not so good, especially behind-the-scenes.
The nWo guys: See ECW crew.
Matt Hardy was honestly not that bad. I'd just seen it all before and the behind-the-scenes things brought him down a lot.
Jimmy Hart was fun for a brief nostalgia pop, though I'm not aching for a return.
Orlando Jordan had a very "out there" start before becoming somewhat entertaining with Eric.
Generation Me never got too far off the ground for long.
Sean Morley: I didn't want to see him on the main roster in 2010, just there for name value.
The Nasty Boys: AWFUL. Bad decision all around to hire them.

4. Absolutely. I think it's a pretty applicable comparison.

5. I've noticed it, too. A lot of WWE fans wouldn't though since they don't watch TNA. I think it's mostly ok as long as they're not in the same promotion. TNA guys using something from someone more established looks worse to me since more people know where they got it.

Matt Hardy posted a crazy new YouTube video, and was rushed to a hospital after falling down in his home. I'm becoming more and more concerned about his situation and I hope beyond hope that things turn out well and this turns around before it's too late.

Joey Styles remarked about the seemingly never-ending Season 5 of NXT. The problem about giving those people contracts (and I agree with some of the choices) is that the roster (especially on Raw) is crowded. There are some people who have been with the company for quite a while whose careers are winding down and aren't the draws that they used to be. I don't know how successful it would be, but I'd like to (continue to) see the wrestlers like Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, and Big Show used in more meaningful, strategic ways with more special and less frequent appearances, while the newer stars (the ones who are TV ready) get to get some experience under their belts working on the shows. It takes time to build acts people want to see.

The Miz met Goldberg recently in what Goldberg says was an unplanned moment. The reason I'm reporting this is because Goldberg told WWE to leave Miz alone about it. Read into that what you will.

TNA has relaunched their ShopTNA website. Spiffy.

Bret Hart talked to WWE.com about being Smackdown's guest GM. Good interview talking up the talent.

Sheamus will sign WWE DVDs for the first 300 fans at an FYE in Amherst, NY on 9/18.

Hulk Hogan gave an interview promoting some appearances in Greensboro, NC.

Kevin Nash was interviewed for almost an hour in Ohio.

The next edition of the popular YouShoot series will be with Shane Douglas. I expect a number of Flair questions.

WWE has canceled a Smackdown house show in Missouri on 8/29. They've canceled there twice before, so maybe they should re-think that location.

Shane (Gregory, "Hurricane") Helms, a longtime friend of the Hardys, talked about their current states with Between The Ropes. He also updated his legal status following his DUI.

WWE has launched a website for their upcoming "Inside Out" movie.

That's all for Wednesday's news. More to come later. Thanks for reading!
