R-Truth was profiled in a hometown magazine. Fantastic read. His heel turn makes me wonder what other people on both companies' rosters have something that amazing lying under the surface.

Rey Mysterio has been given time off to rehab his knee injury, avoiding surgery if possible. He had an MRI on hic knee recently, and will get the results in about a week. Mysterio continues to wrestle on borrowed time. He's one of the company's top acts, so they don't want him to be out for long if it can be avoided.

Up next, a look at PWInsider.com's questions:
1. As I understand it, Angle and Sting were both babyfaces going into Hardcore Justice. Angle did indeed turn heel at the show, but Sting's still a face. The Joker character didn't turn him heel as much as give him more of an edge. Chaotic Good might be a good way to describe it.

2. I assume you mean her recent progress, because I seem to remember her getting in the ring a bit (seldomly) when she was on ECW. Either way, she's gone from being a "pretty face" who danced to a pretty competent performer. She's not the best Knockout, but she's come a long way. So, based on where she started in 2006 or so to now, maybe around a 7?

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's questions and news, starting with the Nitro Girls.
3. It's pretty well-known where Stacy Kiebler went. I don't remember what Sharmell's name was then, but she obviously married Booker T.. "Whisper" married Shawn Michaels, Kimberly was once with DDP and I think maybe teaches yoga. As for the rest, I haven't really heard outside of what they said.

4. Maybe. McCool did leave partially to spend more time with him. Maybe he does settle down at some point, but I haven't heard anything about him hanging up the boots just yet. He's still recovering as far as I know.

5. Well, obviously you have to actually be hired by the companies. I think you might have a better chance of being featured in TNA, but the pay's nowhere near as good and you're more restricted in what you can do. You can make much better money in WWE, but your best work will usually be off of Raw or Smackdown.

A number of WWE stars commented on boxer Manny Pacquiao when in Los Angeles. No idea what the odds are for him appearing there. It'd certainly draw.

Due to a new deal with SuperSport, beginning 8/22/11, TNA will broadcast Impact Wrestling in the entirety of Sub-Saharan Africa. This puts them in pretty much every country there. Great move for them.

In 2012, Mattel will be releasing the following figures online after they were voted on by fans:
Miss Elizabeth, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, King Kong Bundy (who may just be listed as Bundy), and DDP.

WWE has issued a survey to their mailing list regarding new merchandise, dealing with potential sales in major retail outlets vs. WWE Shop.

A number of major names will have comments in the upcoming Stone Cold DVD, including Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho,  The Rock, Paul Heyman, and Dutch Mantell in addition to Vince McMahon, Triple H, Christian, C.M. Punk and more TBA.

The latest WWE.com interview is with John Laurinaitis. Intriguing...

WWE has canceled this Sunday's Smackdown house show in British Columbia. Talk about your short notice! No word on why they're going that route.

Kevin Nash will be unable to attend upcoming indy events he's been advertised for due to his new WWE commitments.

TNA waited until Thursday to post their house show lineups on their website, but still managed to give away that Mexican America would be defending their TNA Tag Team Titles before Impact Wrestling aired. They could have easily just had Beer Money in those matches and advertised them as title matches (instead of "Tag Team Champions Mexican America" in the matches).

TNA has an official deal with Halloween costume company Disguise, which will have costumes for Sting, Hogan, Angle, and Jeff Hardy this fall. No word on if Angle's crazy beard will be included.

SyFy will air a live edition of Smackdown on Tuesday 8/30. It will also air in its normal timeslot. (I'll cover it when it first airs). This decision was made due to its normal timeslot coming on the first day of Labor Day weekend, where ratings are generally lower. If that works, good for them. NXT isn't expected to be affected; they'll likely tape it before Smackdown then air it on the website at 10 like they normally do.

The "original" Sin Cara's suspension is now up. No word on how they'll handle his character going forward.

The TNA contracts of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are set to expire in November, pending renewal. Hogan has been having difficulties with Vince Russo, so there's no guarantee that he'll return. Bischoff's status is more up in the air. I can't be the only one thinking of a Bash at the Beach incident rehash possibly arising at Bound For Glory. Time will tell.

The following news story contains spoilers for upcoming Raw plans in regards to Kevin Nash:
In other "disgruntled horesemen of the WCW apocalypse" news, WWE plans on making Kevin Nash a regular part of Raw going forward. They are indeed planning on having a match between the two of them at some point, with the idea being that Punk working with a major name will get him more over. Sounds great in theory, but there's a large part of the current audience who is only vaguely aware of who he is (if that much). The company feels that it needs to do a stronger job explaining his past and why it's a big deal for him to face Punk.

Nash also had some snubs for TNA: he dyed his hair for his WWE return (as Diesel in the Royal Rumble); something he refused to do in TNA. His remark about a "Pikeville Waffle House" was a reference to one of TNA's house show markets. Nash hated working the smaller markets the company ran, and was less than pleased to be booked on them. Hopefully after Punk carries him to his first watchable match in quite some time, he'll stick behind-the-scenes (where hopefully he gives good advice).

TNA has announced the official signings of Kid Kash (the oldest one), Mark Haskins (the one who looks like John Morrison), Zema Ion (the one with the curly afro-thing), Anthony Neese (the muscular one), and Jesse Sorensen (the... umm... other one). It's going to take some time to see who stands out the most in the division. It's a little bit like NXT with them all being signed and not necessarily getting much time to show who they are each week.

That's all for Thursday's news. More to come later tonight. Thanks for reading!
