Query on Gail Kim, more Matt Hardy comments, Sheamus interview, Knockout done with TNA, another house show moved, Questions on TNA picking up Melina and Kim, Generation Me, TNA's revolving door, and Daniel Bryan-submissions specialist, Glacier interview, Helms booked and Daffney arrested for DUIs, Angle interview, status of Sin Cara, updates on Mysterio and Del Rio, WWE's website gets high marks, Slaughter on Facebook, Impact Wrestling rating, more Sheamus and Conan, Flair threatens lawsuit over condition he admitted to having, another round of Cena/Punk on tap?, NXT changes timeslots in Canada, Siaki interview, and DiBiase talks after Smackdown

First off, someone wants to know why Gail Kim is still listed on WWE.com. She's still technically under contract to them. She didn't ask for her release from it; she just told them she quit. They're well within their legal right to keep her there until it expires. Apparently there's not too much time left in it, but she can't do anything for any other company until it's up.

MVP and Matt Hardy commented on the latter's recent issues. The former makes good points.

Update: Matt's ex-girlfriend Lita also spoke on the matter.

Sheamus was interviewed to promote a show in Kansas. His rise to the top of WWE has been very remarkable. Honestly, it kind of "messed up the curve" for everyone else (similar to Alberto Del Rio). We expect people to be that good that quickly when it's not that easy (and he's had years of experience). You couldn't ask for better tutors than the ones he mentioned.

Cookie is gone from TNA after the company didn't renew her contract. They weren't really using her anyway, so I can't blame them here. She talked about her run there ending on Twitter.

In other TNA news, the company has released Aleta Ennis, who handled marketing and publicity for them in Orlando.

After the break, I look at the attendance for the recent Impact Wrestling tapings, and the rest of the day's news and questions.
Attendance is believed to be in the 3000-3500 range. That's pretty swell for TNA. They're pleased with the number. I wonder how much of it had to do with Jeff Hardy being announced?

WWE had mas moved a house show in California from 12/2/11 to 2/25/12. Always with the changes...

On to PWInsider.com's questions:
1. Will TNA show interest in a performer with name value that has backstage issues? That's practically their business model.

2. To add to what they said, I'm pretty sure that once it expires there's no no-compete clause. If it's a clause in her contract, and her contract's expired, it shouldn't be an issue. I could be wrong though.

3. TNA had something for them with the possible feud between them, then dropped that storyline and couldn't think of what to do with them afterward. TNA had pretty much forgotten what they were doing with them storyline-wise anyway. Don't feel bad. They actually get to wrestle and make money now.

4. Four straight TNA-related questions? I think this is a first for my blog. TNA gets ADD at times it feels like. They'll have an angle or something for someone, then drop it for whatever reason and go back to the "old standbys", whether they be veterans of other big promotions or (sometimes) people who have been with TNA for years. Now, WWE certainly isn't immune to this, but it's more noticeable (or at least seems more noticeable) in TNA.

5. The last time I saw Bryan I thought of some performers I'd like to see him be similar to in the ring (in their primes): Angle, Malenko, Jericho, and Benoit. Wrestlers who had extensive technical prowess and got over based on that. Obviously some of them had strong charisma as well, but going up the ranks sometimes it was a case of them being solid wrestlers bringing a decidedly unique style in the ring. So, Daniel Bryan submission specialist is more than ok with me, as long as he doesn't start tapping everyone out overnight.

Former WCW star Sub-Zero Glacier talked recently about being there and in TNA. He's dead-on about the younger talents and TNA. I think to some degree it's like culture at large: everyone wants big things to come quickly. Quick fixes to big problems, and quick success.

Shane Helms has been officially booked after his wreck-causing DUI months back. Yes, he has a mugshot.

And while we're on the topic, Daffney was arrested last month for DUI as well. I hardly recognized her.

Kurt Angle promoted an upcoming UK tour.

FCW's Hunico once more competed as Sin Cara on Smackdown. The original Cara was at the taping (his suspension was up), but management decided to go with Hunico in the role. That makes sense. How would they explain him losing weight and not knowing the moves Hunico pulled off? I still like the idea of a feud between the two of them over who the "real" Sin Cara is, though.

Update: WWE officials sent the original Sin Cara home and plan to use Hunico in the role going forward. The former Mistico could be on his way out of WWE. Hunico's got a lot more experience working in front of American crowds, and has been pretty impressive as Sin Cara thus far. I just hope the Mexican fans will be ok with someone else being under the hood there. Other than that (and the fact that they signed a big star from Mexico who might be leaving after only a few months), I'm fine with the switch.

Rey Mysterio has now undergone knee surgery. There will be an update on this at some point.

Alberto Del Rio had to go back to Mexico and renew his work visa, so he's not on this weekend's house shows. He's scheduled to be back on the road by Raw.

WWE.com was favorably ranked compared to other sports websites used on mobile phones. That's good to hear.

Sgt. Slaughter has launched an official Facebook page.

The rating for Impact Wrestling bounced back to a 1.22 this week, which is good given the downward slide it had undergone over the last month or so.

Sheamus met with Jimmy Pardo from Conan. I think the former WWE Champion carried himself pretty well when he appeared there.

Ric Flair is threatening a lawsuit over the Grantland.com article released yesterday, disputing the part about him having alcoholic cardiomyopathy. It's basically saying "I can't dispute that I'm horrible with money and have an incredibly dysfunctional life, but stating I have a heart condition is crossing the line".

Update: Flair's agent has released a statement on the matter. Flair running for Country Treasurer? That's like a fox running for Henhouse Watcher.

Update: Flair's autobiography stated that he does, in fact, have the condition. I guess he could argue that his co-author slipped that in there or something, but it seems unlikely that that occurred.

A number of previews are stating that John Cena vs. C.M. Punk will take place on Super Smackdown, but WWE hasn't officially announced it. I'd love to see it, as would plenty of others.

The Score in Canada will now air NXT on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST. Yes, it still airs there. It's being replaced by college football, but they intend to keep it on the air for the time being.

Former TNA wrestler Sonny Siaki was interviewed about life during and after wrestling. I definitely saw the cockiness and Rock comparisons.

Finally, Ted DiBiase spoke with WWE.com after being bagged by Cody Rhodes on Smackdown. I think there's something interesting in the works here.

That's all for Friday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
