Query on Cara-Del Rio, Questions on Benoit not being on DVDs, Taker or Rock vs. Cena, Punk's angle vs. the Attitude Era, and TNA's name change, Matt talks Tough Enough, Jericho update, Vickie gets T-shirt, Maryse granted restraining order, Bischoff interview, Sting reviews his action figure, WM27 special update, HHH on Fallon, CMT wrestling movie trailer, WWE All-Stars DLC, Angle figure scrapped, Crimson t-shirt, and Gail Kim makes a statement

Someone asked if we'll ever see Sin Cara vs. Alberto Del Rio. If Cara doesn't have any more run-ins with the Wellness Policy or anything of the sort, I'd have to think that one will go down at some point.

As for PWInsider.com's questions of the day:
1. I can see why WWE doesn't want to mention him. Since the DVDs aren't about him, they can just cover those things without directly naming him, like "Randy Orton won his first World Title at Summerslam 2004" and show him holding the title without Benoit in the shot. He can still talk about how big of a night it was and that it was a big accomplishment, etc.. I know that on one level it sucks that we can't see some of Benoit's matches and all (I was a huge fan of Benoit's in-ring work), but that topic's understandably really touchy with WWE. Not to mention that there are some people who just can't go back and watch things with him in it without thinking of the incidents, so they try not to stir that hornet nest.

2. Pretty much what they said. They've just been involved in other feuds. As for who's the bigger draw between Rock and Taker, I'm going for the guy who fans have wanted to see return to the ring for 7 years, and the one who's been in a number of big box office draws in that time frame. He's also the one with more history with Cena.

After the break, I compare the current C.M. Punk angle to big angles of the past, and look at the rest of the day's news and questions.

3. It's WAY too soon to compare an angle that's currently ongoing (and has only gone for around a month) to some of the biggest angles of all time. It's going to take a good while for it to pay off as big as those angles/eras did.

4. It is kind of confusing. Even some employees there have used the names interchangeably! They're right about which name is for what. The name change made sense to me given the trouble they had with sponsors taking it seriously, but there were good reasons to not change it as well.

There really isn't anything to say on 5, so I'm moving on to the rest of Wednesday's news.

Former Tough Enough contestant Matt Cross discussed the show and more recently.

Alex Riley and Drew McIntyre were at the 8/3 FCW show.

Chris Jericho's Fozzy will be touring the UK in November, so don't expect a WWE return anytime soon.

Vickie Guerrero has her first official T-shirt available at WWEShop.com

Maryse has been granted a 3-year restraining order against her accused stalker.

Eric Bischoff spoke on a number of TNA subjects recently, including giving updates on Matt Hardy (whose name hasn't been brought up lately), Jeff Hardy (whose situation he's "not involved in") and Ric Flair (who's "anxious to get back"). So, we might be seeing Flair reasonably soon, but the Hardys continue to be on the sidelines.

I wouldn't mind him on commentary as long as it added to instead of overshadowing what was going on in unrelated storylines. I'll give them credit for some of their storylines (Sting vs. Hogan, Immortal, Jarrett vs. Angle) lasting a pretty good while. I can also see him not wanting to draw attention from Impact Wrestling. WWE only got to do Smackdown and other shows because Raw was so successful. Ditto with Thunder and Nitro. It would also dilute the top names if they appeared on both shows. Give them more time to build up their roster and become a bigger deal (and do better business) before they branch out in that direction.

Sting, unfortunately sans makeup, reviewed his new action figure with SoCal Val. A pretty old school look for him with that one.

A number of NBC affiliates will be airing NFL preseason games instead of WWE's WrestleMania special.

Triple H will be making an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's show late this Friday night.

CMT has released their trailer for an upcoming wrestling-themed movie.

Big Boss Man, Mark Henry, and Michael P.S. Hayes are all now available as DLC for WWE All-Stars. Henry and Hayes being released together is hilarious given the incident they had a few years back.

Plans to release the Kurt Angle "Wounded Warrior" action figure have been scrapped for presently unknown reasons.

TNA now has a T-shirt for Crimson.

Gail Kim stated on Twitter that she intentionally eliminated herself from the battle royal on Monday night, sliding under the bottom rope (as opposed to being "pushed"/"thrown" out by another participant). A lot of fans, myself included, didn't notice it on the live broadcast, and according to her, no one in the back noticed it either, which is exactly the point she was trying to make. That's certainly very interesting. She wants the Divas division to be more important, etc.. There will almost certainly be more to the story in the days/weeks to come.

That's all for Wednesday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
