Bobby Roode hype videos, note on Hardy's rehab, Dundee talks Memphis, Cena on Nick film, Questions on entrances, Tessmacher, and Andy Leavine, WWE looks at Curtain Call, Impact Wrestling post show, Austin talks Cena and Del Rio, Morgan interview, Rock trains, Punk signing before HIAC, more WWE anti-bullying work, Kim officially gone from WWE, Impact Wrestling rating

TNA released two videos to promote Bobby Roode ahead of his big title match at Bound for Glory. I can't say I'm overly excited that he's getting that spot, but there are certainly older and staler people they could have given it to so maybe the risk pays off.

Matt Hardy entering rehab was part of his release order. It was either that or face going to a detention center under a million-dollar bond. Wise choice. I really hope he's making the best of this.

Old-school wrestling legend Bill Dundee talked about a number of past and present topics. I should really read more about the old Memphis days. Very successful territory, even when WWE was expanding rapidly. The bookers and workers there just simply "got it" and everything fired on the right cylinders. There's a lot to go into there, but he's very knowledgeable. I particularly like the thought process about stunts, spots, etc. and goofy gimmicks taking the place of well put-together angles with strong workers. It's a huge problem, especially in smaller promotions. And they wonder why they don't draw...

John Cena will appear in the Nickelodeon movie "Fred 2", airing on 10/22. I have no idea what most of the rest of the press release is talking about. Sounds pretty crazy.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news, starting with a look at PWInsider.com's questions.
1. Sometimes they cut the entrances from some matches to save some time when they have video packagaes and the like to air. They've even cut matches before I believe. Generally if someone's in the ring already when they come from break, they're not the ones the promotion is focusing on.

2. She seems to have a tremendous upside and I'd like to see more of her. I've had my fill of some of the other Knockouts for the time being, so it be good for them to mix up who's in matches more. It'll take time for her to become as popular with the mainstream as the former multiple-time WWE Women's/Divas' Champion with years of TV exposure I think though.

There's not really anything to add to 3 and 4, so for 5. He's currently working in FCW as Kevin Hackman, which is what he was doing before Tough Enough. He's at least being featured on their TV show now. No word on any future plans for him.

WWE is making use of the "Curtain Call" footage from 1996 to continue selling his current angle. That's honestly a little surprising. This was an incident where Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were leaving the company, and HHH and HBK broke character to come to the ring and say good-bye to them. Management was not pleased to say the least.

Here's the Impact Wrestling post-show. They should break these up into smaller pieces like WWE's recent videos.

Steve Austin talked a bit about WWE in a recent promotional interview for an upcoming movie, specifically about Alberto Del Rio and John Cena. It's frustrating for a lot of fans to accept in this day and age that it takes a good deal of time for someone to be accepted enough to be put in a position to draw money. Del Rio's ahead of the curve because of his background and skill level, but in general they don't want to push too many people as big deals within only a few years of being in the company. You can't just make someone a big main eventer. WWE needs to cleverly use the veterans they have while the other wrestlers are gaining valuable experience and knowledge elsewhere on the card. Things can and should move around on the card, and they need to get behind a number of talents when they can, but I can't blame them for going with the more established veterans.

Matt Morgan talked about a number of BFG-related topics after Impact Wrestling. I like this kind og thing.

The Rock posted a picture of himself training for Survivor Series. He looks like he's still in amazing shape.

C.M. Punk will be at a New Orleans K-mart signing autographs on Sunday.

WWE will be doing further, more extensive anti-bullying work in the month of October. I think this will be another type of story that I won't cover from here forward unless it more closely ties to wrestling.

Gail Kim's WWE contract has officially expired, and her profile has been removed from WWE.com.I suspect we'll be hearing more from her on the matter shortly.

Impact Wrestling did a 1.14 on Thursday night. Not bad.

Daniel Bryan will be appearing on the A&E show "Disaster Guy" on 10/1 at noon. He doesn't even own a TV to watch himself!!!

That's all for Friday's news. More to come later today. Thanks for reading!
