First matches made for Turning Point, post-Impact Wrestling show, Bryan talks not cashing in, Questions on championships, no-compete clauses, dark alleys, Savage/Elizabeth in the Hall, and Maryse, Dixie Carter to answer fan questions, "Hollywood" Hogan returning?, Nash talks attacking HHH, Windham updates, Terry Taylor shoot, WWE and FCW stars work in Puerto Rico, Maryse released, Impact Wrestling rating, WWE's dividend, Z! TLIS #37, and WWE to make content for YouTube

Three matches have been officially set for TNA Turning Point:
Velvet Sky vs. Gail Kim for the Knockouts Championship
Mexican America (including Sarita) vs. Ink, Inc. and Toxxin for the Tag Team Championships
Jeff Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett
Nice start to that card. Hopefully they push those matches well on TV.

Speaking of Gail, she was part of the Impact Wrestling post-show.

Daniel Bryan talked about not cashing in his MITB briefcase at Vengeance. Not a bad interview. He makes good and interesting points. The beard stuff's a little weird, though.

PWInsider.com has some new questions to ponder.
1. It's a little complicated. The titles are so named because of their backgrounds. Back in the territory days, there was one World Champion who went across all of the smaller territories. In other words, when he wasn't in town defending, there wasn't a World Title match. A number of smaller territories decided to have their own titles to be secondary to that title. It's something like FCW having a Florida Heavyweight Champion since WWE has its own champions who don't compete there. As for the Intercontinental Title, it was/is a combination of the old North American and (fictional?) South American Titles. That's what makes it Intercontinental.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news and questions, starting with one on WWE's no-compete clauses.

2. It should be noted that the clause only applies to released talents, so people whose contracts expire (Gail Kim) are immediately free to go elsewhere. I'm not sure whether talents can legally/officially meet with the competition, but it's never been determined in court to my knowledge. Some even question whether the clause itself should be binding for "independent contractors". I wouldn't think they could do any thing that uses the name or likeness or a wrestler while the no-compete clause is in effect, but I'm pretty sure they can throw hints. I know that TNA did it in the pre-Spike days with Matt Hardy (who ended up going back to WWE despite hints that he'd be at a TNA PPV).

3. Well, the only one implied to be mad is Karen Angle, and that's not even her name anymore, so any of them would be fine. I'm just meeting them after all. Seriously though, Henry could definitely kill me, Abyss likely could, and Jarrett would probably at least mess me up pretty good. I think I might have to go with Abyss because Karen seems like she'd be the type to track you down and stab you with a nail file if she's anything like she is on TV.

4. I'm not really sure what the correlation there is, but it's possible and a lot of people would love to see it happen!

5. I'm somewhat surprised that she's not back on NXT. Matt Striker's doing well enough hosting on his own, but that's what she was doing before the injury. It looks like Maxine has taken over the role of feuding with AJ, so that could be out of the picture, too. Then again, given the last few weeks of that show, she could very well end up feuding with another Diva like Tamina is with Kaitlyn. She's yet to be used in the "main roster" angle with Beth/Natalya atop the division, so that's a possibility. She just doesn't seem like a great fit on either side of that one. So, she's in Purgatory I suppose.

Dixie Carter is seeking fan questions to address on the TNA website. Hopefully she gets mature ones so we online fans don't look bad! I'd guess that Bischoff and Hogan will be popular queries, as well they should/

Hulk Hogan is asking whether he should bring back the "Hollywood" incarnation of his character for his current angle. It seems like it would be an odd fit for the storyline, since it's associated with his heel run.

Kevin Nash talked about his sledgehammer attack on Triple H. I get enough of this guy on TV.

Barry Windham is being seen by an MRI specialist. He was recently said to be in stable condition.

Highspots.com has a trailer for a DVD with Terry Taylor. Could be some pretty good stuff, though that idea sounds pretty pie-in-the-sky to me. The principles behind it are good, but it feels like a stretch. As bad as WCW was doing then, I don't know how well it would have worked to remove such a big star from the broadcast.

Primo and Tito Colon will be working Carlos Colon's WWC promotion this weekend. They get to do hat from time to time, much like Carlito did. WWE isn't doing house shows of their own this weekend ahead of a big European tour.

WWE has released Maryse, who they weren't really doing much with. She reacted by having a party in L.A. with The Miz, so this could very well have been a mutual decision. She played her role well when she had the opportunity to, but since she was kind of "lost in the shuffle" and there are a number of other people getting pushed in the division now, this wasn't really a big loss.

This week's episode of Impact Wrestling drew a 1.14, noticeably down from the previous week. Of course, last week came off from one of, if not the single biggest PPV in company history and featured a World Title change. It was also going up against Game 6 of the World Series and the return of "Beavis and Butthead". I think a drop was pretty much inevitable given those factors.

WWE has declared their quarterly dividend to be 12 cents per share for all Class A and B shares of their common stock. I'm not familiar enough with economics to know if that's a good thing or not.

Episode #37 of Zack Ryder's YouTube show has been posted after being mistakenly removed by WWE for copyright claims. He gets more merchandise every week it seems. Fun Ghostbusters send-off. Damn you Scott Stanford!

Finally, WWE is one of many partners that will be making exclusive content for YouTube in the near future. It's currently unknown how this relates to the WWE Network, if it does at all.

That's all for Friday's news. More to come later tonight. Thanks for reading!
