Cabana talks WWE, Dixie talks Impact Wrestling, BFG lineup official, Questions on TNA's creative direction, Chavo in the Sin Cara storyline, and Angle in WWE, Grisham talks WWE/ESPN, 1 year of Smackdown on SyFy, another WWE '12 cover, HHH previews Raw, TNA planning another Jersey Shore crossover, new wrestling book in the works, Roode interview, Hogan video game trailer, Impact Wrestling rating, and more on the Raw walkout

Colt Cabana talked about his current standing or lack thereof with WWE recently. As over as Zack Ryder is and they can't find a use for this guy? Ridiculous. Ditto for TNA using Eric Young. The man works his tail off to entertain the crowd and get his personas over. That's exactly the kind of hard work that should be rewarded by a major promotion. Their loss is the indie scene's gain.

Dixie Carter tweeted in-character about the end of Impact Wrestling. I'm pretty much ready for her to be back in charge on-screen. The product in general could use a revamp/new direction soon.

The finalized line-up for Bound For Glory is:
Winter vs. Mickie James vs. Madison Rayne vs. Velvet Sky for the Knockouts Championship
Austin Aries vs. Brian Kendrick for the X-Division Championship
Mexican America vs. Ink, Inc. for the Tag Team Championship
AJ Styles vs. Daniels in an I Quit match
Samoa Joe vs. Crimson vs. Matt Morgan
Bully Ray vs. Mr. Anderson in a Falls Count Anywhere match
Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn in a Full Metal Mayhem match
Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode for the World Championship
Hulk Hogan vs. Sting in a No Disqualification match for control of TNA.

On paper/screen, that's actually not a bad card and certainly a pretty important one. We'll see how it goes, though. There's no guarantee it will be as good as it can be.

After the break, I go into the rest of the news for 10/7, beginning with a look at PWInsider.com's questions. First up, a rant.

There's nothing to add to 1, so I'll move to 2. Hogan, Flair, and Sting are actually responsible for some of TNA's highest-ever ratings. Granted, those were generally one-time things, but they drew in fans to see what they were doing. I agree that the three of them are running long in the tooth physically and creatively, but if they get the company attention and eyeballs on the product, TNA's going to continue using them if they can. I agree about hotshots. I seem to remember ReAction not doing well in the ratings unless it had continuation from Impact's main event. Whether it was "better" is up for debate, but people tuned out in droves when they switched to the backstage interviews and the like from the show. I'm sure there are people who want to face Jarrett for the title, but they might do it in AAA instead of TNA.

Nothing to add to 3 either, so on to 4. Chavo asked for and received his release from contract a number of months back. Not only will he almost certainly not be involved in the Sin Cara storyline, we might never see him in WWE again!

5. If his problems were so easily dealt with, they MIGHT have been willing to bring him back into the fold. But since they aren't, I don't see them as willing to work with him right now. I know he was burned out working the full-time WWE schedule, so that likely factored in as well. He's got a more lax schedule in TNA and can work on outside endeavors like his Olympics training.  All in all, it's not as simple as "he's talented; WWE should have signed him".

Former WWE announcer Todd Grisham talked WWE and ESPN with the Miami Herald. Nice read.

WWE looked at the past year of Smackdown being on SyFy.

Here's another cover for WWE '12, featuring (the first) Sin Cara. For someone who hasn't been in the company for even a year, that's pretty impressive.

Triple H talked up the post-walkout Raw set for Monday. Lots of intrigue for that one.

TNA is very likely to feature Ronnie Ortiz-Magro of "Jersey Shore" in multiple episodes on Impact Wrestling. Details beyond that are unknown. It will probably get people talking and maybe some additional viewers for its duration, but will it be beneficial long-term? I personally could not care much less about seeing it go down.

Kevin Von Erich is working on a book about World Class Championship Wrestling. Should be interesting.

Bobby Roode talked about Bound For Glory. I disagree about stories and matches needing to be really "real" looking. People knew Rocky wasn't really fighting Apollo Creed, but that didn't stop them from enjoying it and making the studio that put it out a lot of money. It also baffles me that the company that tries to make things more "real" than WWE features X-Division spotfests that are primarily about showing off moves instead of competing to win a match. Then again, TNA's its own little Cloud Cuckoo Land, so nothing should really surprise me about it.

Here's a trailer for Hulk Hogan's Kinect game. Looks better than the actual game looks like it'll be. Eek.

Thursday's Impact Wrestling got a 1.01 rating, its lowest number of the year. It was going up against an MLB playoffs game and "Jersey Shore". Still, that's pretty disappointing going into Bound For Glory. They've got their work cut out for them in turning things around.

Finally, a number of WWE talents took to Twitter to discuss plans to "Occupy Raw" and a Solidarity Rally. I love it. Keep it up! More here and here.

That's all for Friday's news. More to come later in the day. I should be back on schedule for Sunday's news post. Thanks for reading!
