Questions on Rhodes' kneepads, PPVs for both brands, Ambrose and Rollins, JR, and WWE's use of the internet, JR and Piper updates, preview of Hall story, Hart talks Rivalries DVD, and WWE looks at Mil Mascaras

Wednesday's news began with PWInsider.com questions:
1. It's also possible that he does it to stand out. Or, it could be as simple as they suggested.

2. It should be noted that those events weren't as successful as the current dual-branded ones. It was good in some ways, as more lower card guys got chances, but how they do things now delivers more bang for the buck and makes them more money. It's a win-win in that sense. As for their tangent, pushes for Del Rio, Sheamus, Henry, Christian, The Miz, R-Truth, and C.M. Punk is only the "same old, same old" if you have a short attention span.

3. They could be saving them for NXT Season 6 if that ever comes. I know that HHH is a fan of Rollins; and Ambrose is getting featured there a lot recently so it could only be a matter of time. I'm curious to see what they can bring to the table in the WWE environment.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news and questions, starting with the WWE-JR dynamic.

4. Vince McMahon has a pretty "out there" sense of humor, so it's entirely possible that their reason hold water. There's hardly any telling why he does what he does sometimes. JR is indeed a solid play by play announcer, but that's not what WWE wants right now. McMahon and Kevin Dunn are said to be pretty high on Cole's work. Possibly because they're all of the same wacky mindset.

5. Why is a wrestling company trying to work their audience? That's what wrestling companies do. They're trying to convince us that what goes on on the show is real. I don't look at it as being much different from old radio and TV interviews being conducted in character. They're reaching out to media other than TV to try to get attention to their storylines and performers, and I personally think it's the right idea to "bring the business into 2011". I do however agree that real releases should be kept separate from those in storyline or at the least, come up with a storyline reason why someone was released (such as the Board terminating their contracts or something) on the website. Otherwise, I think they should move them to the corporate site.

Jim Ross tweeted that he's not expecting to come back to weekly TV. He shot down that it was due to health-related reasons. I've enjoyed his return the announce booth, but all these changes on his status are getting kind of frustrating to follow. They need to decide what they're doing with him and stick with it.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper's neck still isn't 100%, and he may have "pushed himself" doing the Legends Roundtable. If WWE puts him on that show about legends sharing a house, I think I'd tune in.

An ESPN producer previewed the E:60 episode on Scott Hall. Sounds very compelling.

Bret Hart talked about his "Rivalries" DVD with Shawn Michaels, which also sounds like something must-see. Hart seems like he's at a good place in his life right now. Glad that chapter of his life is (hopefully) finally closed.

Finally, WWE uploaded videos of Hall of Famer to be Mil Mascaras.

That's all for Wednesday's news. I'll be back with more tonight. Thanks for reading!
