Questions on Vince McMahon, Daniel Bryan, Homicide in WWE, the Anonymous GM, and WWE tag teams, possible new TNA talents, new items on ShopTNA, HBK back on WWE TV?, WWE touts Mania's business in Atlanta, Maxim talks Punk, Cena shirt, WWE '12 gameplay, Smackdown rating, Henry/Show updates, official WWE Network names, new WWE trademark, updates on Booker T and Sin Cara II, Punk promotes Raw, Henry to promote Smackdown, and Taker/McCool visit Raw

Monday's news starts off with PWinsider.com's questions. Here's my look at them:
1. I do think to a degree that McMahon isn't as good at his job as he used to be. Personally, I think a good deal of it is that the business has changed since his heyday and the older ideas aren't working as well as they hope. Much like how the '90s were almost entirely different from the '80s, the current product should be different from how things were in the past. I could be stretching here, but since a lot of today's fans didn't grow up watching Nash, HHH, Big Show, Kane, and so on, there isn't the same connection that there is with newer acts like Cena, Orton, Rey (as a main eventer), Punk, Miz, etc.. The ideal audience is 18-34, and TNA has shown that stars too much older than that range aren't consistent draws. This doesn't mean they shouldn't be used to enhance careers or anything, but I don't think they should be the focal points of a promotion unless they're doing really good work (see: Mark Henry) or there's a lot of people who want to see them come back (see: The Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker). Personally, I thought what made the superstars back in "the day" great was personality. They had defined gimmicks and a lot of them were distinct. Even the lower-card guys and Divas stood out. Maybe it's because they had a lot more freedom back then? Sometimes the best action is inaction. In other words, let people do "their own thing" more if what they do can get them over outside of the "WWE mold". That's my theory anyway.

2. He's won on NXT and Superstars, but those "don't count" to a lot of people since hardly anyone watches them. His depush has been somewhat baffling to me as well. I don't think he's been "buried" though. I think that should be saved for things like MVP's long losing streak. Times where they basically go out of their way to make someone look like a joke. It's possible that they're having second thoughts about him as MITB winner and for now just have the briefcase on him so he builds some credibility (like a midcard title) without being pushed as a title contender.

After the break, I go into the rest of the day's news and questions. Next up, would Homicide work in WWE?

3. The point of Alberto Del Rio us that he DOESN'T relate to anyone in the audience. He looks down on them. That's why he's hated as a heel. Speaking of which, I think it'd be great if they tied in the Occupy Wall Street protests with his character. A "greed is good" kind of thing. Anyway, he'd have to change a lot before WWE would take him. The name, his Vertebreaker finisher and probably its name, hmm... I think there's a chance he could get over but he has a lot working against him in the PG style and his size. I think he's pretty talented, though.

4. He/she was replaced by Laurinaitis, since he's now running Raw. I guess if he/she came out and complained, they wouldn't be anonymous anymore! Honestly, at this point I don't think enough people care to bring it up again.

5. I'm going with no. They're presently rebuilding the division with some currently stable teams: The Usos, Hawkins/Reks, Titus O'Neil/Percy Watson are all working on NXT, and it's possible that Primo and Tito Colon will join them. And as far as I know there's still a possibility of ROH's Kings of Wrestling ending up working together in WWE, but that's up to Chris Hero.

ShopTNA.com has new merchandise for Hulk Hogan, James Storm, Velvet Sky, and Eric Young. They've got some pretty cool designs.

Cliff Compton, the former Domino, could be pretty close to being signed by TNA. However, it's possible this is for their Indian project. Jamin Olivencia is also on the company's radar, following a strong showing against Sonjay Dutt at a recent indie PPV. This could also be for that new venture. I have virtually no idea who the second guy is, but Compton's getting a good amount of buzz lately for his current character. If he can do well in TNA and make the money, I'd love to see what the fuss is all about.

There has been talk of bringing back Shawn Michaels to be a part of the ongoing Triple H/Kevin Nash program. That would make sense given the three men's history. I hope this does good enough business to justify dipping back into the past. It should be noted that new DX merchandise will be released. I wonder if Sean Waltman will make his way into this too.

WWE has released a statement on the economic impact of WrestleMania XXVII.

The November issue of Maxim talked about C.M. Punk. This is good. WWE should (continue to) wisely use what they have with him.

WWE is already selling John Cena's new T-shirt design. Surely this doesn't surprise anyone.

Here's some footage of WWE '12 featuring the Sin Cara from Booker T.'s Fave Five and his boy D-Bry.

Smackdown did another solid 2.21 rating. The Supershow thing seems to be paying off in that regard.

WWE has storyline updates on Big Show and Mark Henry after Vengeance. Great spot on that show and I'm glad they're following up on it seriously.

WWE is registering trademarks for WrestleMania Rewind and House of Fame for their WWE Network.

WWE is trademarking the term "Broski", meaning that no other company can use that name on merchandise.

Booker T. is advertised for a match against Cody Rhodes on 12/30. Hopefully that means WWE likes Rhodes and will use Booker to elevate him.

Also on that show is presently scheduled to be a rematch between the two Sin Caras. I'd think the one in silver and black would get a new gimmick.

C.M. Punk promoted Raw on a Fox affiliate. Good stuff. He's too entertaining for his own good.

Mark Henry will promote Smackdown on the Vandermeer and Lopez Show in Houston, TX around 9:30 a.m..

The Undertaker and Michelle McCool were visiting at Raw near where they live. Cue the rumors of returns. I haven't heard anything other than "he'll return when he's ready to" in a LONG time, and I don't think McCool's future is known.

Finally, here's footage of Brock Lesnar in WWE '12.

That's all for Monday's news. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading!
