Diva trying to reinvent herself, another champion unwell, NXT live event notes, Interviews with Cena/Terrell, Wrestle-1 done with TNA?, Ziggler rant, next NXT special set, and Questions on Rollins' new finisher, BNB, a WWE TV title, Blu-Rays, and potatoes

Eva Marie is now training with The Brian Kendrick. I can't say I've missed seeing her around. Hopefully Kendrick can make her someone worth watching. Those are some solid names for her to be studying, based on what Kendrick said. What about RVD or Rey Mysterio?

John Cena has been dealing with a fever all this week. That sucks. He's obviously an important cog in the machine.

WWE wants NXT's live events to be close to the main roster shows as they tour. That makes sense. I don't see any reason to try to overcomplicate it unless there's a big market they'd be missing.

Update: With one live event the weekend of Money in the Bank in the same market, there's already speculation of NXT talent being used on that show. I'm split on whether they should do that. It's a case-by-case basis, I think. It needs to be meaningful.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

John Cena was interviewed ahead of Extreme Rules. I've really liked the open challenge when it's featured guys who've been hungry for a shot to show what they can do against a top guy. I want to see more along that line.

Wrestle-1 will be returning to the United States in June, but not to work with TNA. If we don't see any interaction between the two sides for Slammiversary, I'd assume the relationship between them is over. Especially with The Great Sanada now being gone. I wouldn't think that would mean all that much outside of the lack of W1 talents at any kind of World Cup event, and the end to any further trades of talent. TNA's got a pretty good crop of names now, so hopefully they can continue to do good things in 2015 and beyond. Maybe BFG 2015 will be in China this year?

Dolph Ziggler went on a big rant on Twitter. Talk about a word salad. I'm a fan of Ziggler and think he's incredibly talented, but it might be best for him to take some time off once those five months are up. It sounds like he's really at wit's end.

Taryn Terrell talked about working with Awesome Kong and more. I'm glad we're seeing her shine in TNA.

The next NXT Takeover special is set for May 20. I assume we'll see another round of Zayn vs. Owens there. That should be great!

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I really hope they change it to something else and more or less retcon the one we saw Monday. I like the idea of him having something he can hit out of nowhere, but that finisher looked really goofy for the WWE Champion to have.

2. I'm under the impression that was something BNB said to sucker his opponent into the Bull Hammer. On a related note, I think it's time to retire the word "bury" due to its gross misuse. If BNB was losing to Hornswoggle and El Torito for no other reason than to make him look bad, that'd be one thing. There are going to be talented wrestlers who lose a lot of matches. That's just how it is. It doesn't mean Management is out to ruin wrestlers' worth in the eyes of the fans.

3. Basically a hardcore title without the hardcore? I don't see much reason to. An "extreme" title for guys like Ambrose and Harper to fight for might be something different, but there'd have to be a really good reason to do it and dedication from Management to make it mean something. I think gimmick matches are already pretty overexposed.

There's a way to make it work, though: introduce a character reminiscent of Palmer Cannon or the Right to Censor (or Cyrus for you ECW fans) who decries how non-family friendly things have gotten with Extreme Rules this and Hell in a Cell that. Make this character a heat magnet for forcing WWE to make things overly sanitized (trying to keep the action from going into the crowd or using steel steps or announce tables and all that). That sets up a babyface GM character to eventually come in and make the Hardcore Title. Those matches can have all the crazy fights backstage and weapons shots and all that so the other matches can be more about the wrestling. I don't see it happening either way.

4. Get a load of this pleb who doesn't just stream everything on the WWE Network. Just kidding. I do think a lot of fans who would buy Blu-Rays are headed to digital, though. That could be WWE's thinking.

5. It would be interesting to know why they picked that term for it, but that's the word they used!

More wrestling tomorrow.
