Live event reports, TNA behind on paying talents, Smackdown note in Canada, and Questions on Taker retiring at WM32, the brand extension, Cena beating Rusev, and Big Show as a wrestler

Here's a live report from an NXT live event this weekend. I hope they can figure out how to get Solomon Crowe to work out. He's got a unique background and some intangibles not everyone can lay claim to.

A number of TNA talents are upset at the company being behind in paying them. The company had some larger expenses recently with taping so many One Night Only PPVs. Since they won't air for a while, no one has seen the fruits of their labor. There have also been problems due to the area of Panda Energy being responsible for cutting checks to talents being part of an ongoing move there. With TNA not having any dates until May 8, talents are frustrated with having to work indie shows in order to stay afloat. All in all, it's a bad situation. I don't really see anyone leaving over it, but I can definitely see how they'd be quite upset at the matter. Hopefully TNA will start doing live events and the like and that will get talents more work and pay.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Here's a live report from one of WWE's live events in England, and here's another live report from another show they had there. I'm not surprised Neville's a big hit there.

Smackdown's airings in Canada have been moved from Wednesday to Thursday during the NHL Playoffs. Hockey's obviously a really big deal there.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I do question if Taker could top going out in his home state. There's got to be part of him that wants to go to just being Mark Calaway and living with his family away from the wrestling life. If that is his last match, I think Sting and Kane are the two names that make the most sense. I guess theoretically they could use Mark Henry there, too, since he could be retiring around that time. But will he actually hang it up at WM32? We're too far away to know.

2. Building up enough stars people will watch is what they'd have to do. I don't know if it would work the same way it did back then (just like the Monday Night War wouldn't be the same today), but it MIGHT be able to work in a few years if they want to go that direction. I think they could easily just keep things the way they are as far as the roster goes.

3. I think it's a mixture. Cena can be a really good wrestler and what we saw of him on the mic when he didn't have to be the family-friendly "Make-A-Wish" guy was enjoyable. WWE would have to consciously not book him as Superman for an extended period of time before "smart" fans would be less antagonistic toward him. As for Rusev losing at Mania, it made sense. He held his own for a lot of that feud. Fans would have been upset at Reigns as WWE Champion beating Rusev, too, so that option's out. As for Rusev winning at Extreme Rules, I don't think they should go that route. What if he joins The Authority as their new bruiser, replacing Kane (since they're teasing the latter turning facr)?

4. It would be pretty bad if they felt like they were running so low on people to put into the Hall of Fame they just kept re-inducting people from the earlier years.

5. Big Show can have flashes of being impressive. I just think all the miles and bumps have worn him down. He's definitely not as immobile as Khali, but he's also not someone I'd say has "good" matches most of the time.

More wrestling tomorrow.
