Here's the press release announcing Paragon Pro Wrestling coming to national TV. I'm curious as to how they came up with the idea of it being seen by more people in the U.S. than WWE. That sounds like spin. At any rate, I look forward to seeing Gangrel and Joey Ryan again. I hope Jessy Sorensen is coming along as a worker, too.
A soccer player appearing at a WWE live event in the UK was covered. To say that's a big deal there is an understatement.
Laredo Kid tried out for WWE before Smackdown. He's had at least one previous tryout there. It might be worth giving him a shot! WWE could use another talented luchadore.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Rolling Stone interviewed the former CJ Parker:
- RS has been on something of a wrestling kick lately, which is a pleasant surprise.
- I think his character was really good, and I'm glad he realizes it was an important role to play.
- Working a variety of opponents in NXT is helpful for everyone.
- I think it's smart of him to see what's out there. Who knows? He could come back to the national scene as a big asset.
The Great Khali says he's returning to WWE. I hope it's just for some cameos. He's barely mobile at this point.
TMZ reported on another lawsuit of former wrestlers seeking damages from WWE. I'll be shocked if these suits succeed.
Update: Here's more on the lawsuit. I've got to ask why they waited so long to file given those claims.
Update: WWE's lead attorney responded. McDevitt's always good at burying people.
Finn Balor worked against Neville at live events in Ireland this weekend. On the first show, both men were taken out by Sheamus after their match. I'm excited for the futures of all three of those men.
Smackdown's audience Thursday was 2.63 million, down a bit from the previous week. That post-Mania boost didn't last long!
Lilian Garcia announced she'll be undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus. I wonder how many years we are from her going into the Hall of Fame.
More wrestling tomorrow.
