First up, a query:
1. I definitely see comparisons between the current John Cena and the pre-"Crow" version of Sting. The OVW-era Cena definitely bears resemblance.
Ross and Mashall Von Erich are set to try out for NXT next month. They've worked a few TNA events. I think they need more experience before being picked up, but maybe WWE sees a chance worth taking with them.
NXT's (Wesley) Blake talked ahead of a live event. It's cool he was trained by Dory Funk, Jr..
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
The president of USA talked about picking up Smackdown and more. Hopefully that means good things for WWE.
Daniel Bryan vs. Bad News Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship is official for Extreme Rules. That should be pretty nice. I'm guessing we'll get Ziggler vs. Sheamus, too.
Paragon Pro Wrestling will be taping once a month in Las Vegas to appear on Pop TV. That channel actually has significantly more reach than Destination America, although still a good deal shy of the number of households with USA, Spike, or SyFy.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It's a shame his career didn't work out. I liked his gimmick on the ECW brand.
2. The DGUSA/EVOLVE thing is overly complicated, I think. They probably should just officially drop the split at this point.
3. I also think we'll hear something before too much longer. They're working on it!
4. Small. First she'll have to wait for her WWE contract to officially expire (because otherwise talents could "retire" just to get out of them). After that, who knows if she'll even want to go work TNA or anywhere else? As much as I'd love to see her mix it up with other female wrestlers, it's definitely not happening anytime soon.
5. At that point, Punk's contract was going to expire in a few weeks anyway. Had he not re-signed, they would have just have had Cena or Del Rio walk out with the title at MITB and they wouldn't have to worry about Punk doing damage on their TV shows again.
More wrestling tomorrow.
