Rousey-WWE update, note on next week's NXT, Lesnar update, when WM plans were set, U.S. Title plans, Sonnen-WWE update, more veterans working with NXT stars?, TNA PPV update, Justin Roberts blasts WWE, and Questions on ROH on demand, Sting's "obscurity", America the Beautiful, attending every WM, Ivory, and one-name wrestlers

UFC confirmed Ronda Rousey's WM31 appearance was just a one-time thing. For now. I'm sure WWE would love to use her in a match next year.

Next week's NXT will focus on WrestleMania week, including AXXESS and Hideo Itami entering the battle royal. I'm fine with them doing that, since I'm sure there was great action that was taped.

Brock Lesnar will likely be "suspended" until the build for Summerslam starts. I think that makes sense. I think Rollins should beat Orton, then feud with Ambrose before a WM31 rematch at Summerslam.

WWE decided to go with Seth Rollins winning the championship a few days before WM31. The competitors weren't informed of the plan until the day of the event. The original plan was indeed Reigns leaving with the title. They made a ballsy decision. I hope it pays off.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

WWE is talking about updating the design of the United States Championship. Part of me wants them to do a design referencing the old spinner belt, but I'm not so sure. I hope it doesn't look too goofy.

Chael Sonnen was backstage at WrestleMania, but there has been no word of him signing there. I'll believe it when it happens.

There's talk of Vader and Goldust getting involved in working with NXT talents. I wouldn't be against Goldust becoming part of the NXT roster along with Kendrick and Rhyno. I still want a blowoff to his feud with Stardust at Extreme Rules, but if he's not going to do much beyond job, maybe NXT is the better place for him.

TNA is planning a live PPV for Slammiversary in late June. That's good! Hopefully live events aren't too far behind and BFG will be live as well.

Justin Roberts criticized WWE for their handling of the Connor The Crusher Hall of Fame induction:
- I think every media entity in some way alters what happened in order to make a certain narrative. That's just kind of how media work. It's not necessarily nefarious.

- I think some WWE employees are more or less lifers. They might be cut for financial reasons or something else, but I can only think of a few cases where someone was released just because the company wanted new blood.

- Interesting note about some contracts preventing people from speaking out. Yeaton absolutely, AB. SO. LUTE. LY. belongs in the Hall of Fame for his years of service. They should do it next year if they can.

- He has a point about being able to market the award. Hopefully WWE would be OK with having some unsung heroes get the award, beginning next year.

- A lot of media cut out parts of speeches for various reasons, generally brevity or clarity. I do think they changed what Warrior meant with that omission, though.

- Roberts getting wrestlers to give autographs, etc., is awesome.

- It's also quite cool for Roberts to talk about wrestling with Connor instead of his condition. That's probably the right move.

- That was a pretty clever pitch from Roberts.

- How would Stephanie not be able to make that pitch happen?

- Roberts absolutely should have been allowed to announce Connor coming to the ring. That's a no-brainer.

- I do think it was pretty messed up for them to turn something that poignant into a quick segment with a time limit.

- I echo his sentiments about taking care of their current employees, especially long-time ones.

For my take on PWInsider.com's questions:
1. Remember they don't have the same level of staff and infrastructure WWE has to put material it has up for VOD. They probably decide what to put up on a basis of what they think will have the biggest audience. It's smart to not put everything up if they don't think there's a big enough demand for it.

2. Doing an angle at a shareholders meeting would be pretty funny. Sting's entrance music interrupting George A. Barrios going over the subscriber numbers for the network = money. Given how few fans knew about the call, it would be pointless to do an angle there. That call's for the suits. And remember, anything in the wrestling world that isn't WWE is obscure to Vince.

3. This is also a work to get more heat on Rusev. In fact, everything's a work. Just kidding. I'm not sure how you missed the song being performed, but it was definitely there and remains a WM tradition.

4. WWE should make a documentary on them!

5. That's about it. She's probably happily retired. Am I the only one who wants a Right to Censor cameo at some point (maybe during an Old School Raw)? Although WWE is already pretty tame now...

6. Sounds like another one of Vince's eccentricities, like not saying "belt" or "strap". It's definitely easier to just get the one name over (and makes commentary simpler), but it's weird for so many people to just be known as one name. Like, what if Cesaro needs a visa and they need a first and last name for it to be accepted?

More wrestling tomorrow.
