The former Amber O'Neil has been added to some GFW dates. More dates are expected to be added to the Grand Slam tour shortly. I wonder how the upcoming TV tapings will go.
Here are results from an NXT live event this weekend. The shows are lacking without Owens, Balor, Itami, and Zayn. Not bad, just lacking.
Update: here are results from another NXT show. This one had more people working matches.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. You answered your own question. Why buy the PPV/subscribe to the Network for it if you can see the best parts the next night for free?
2. Can't really disagree with their answer here. Owens' finisher is presented as being devastating. The Canadian Destroyer is more of a "cool move" than a "this move is actually going to kick someone's ass" kind of thing. Ditto for the Meltzer Driver.
3. The plan is for NXT to eventually split into two touring groups, one for the top experienced names to hit bigger markets and one for those who are still training to make it to the TV show to stay in Florida. So, I don't necessarily see them cutting a bunch of developmental names right now unless those talents just obviously aren't going to return WWE's investment in them. Releases have been more of a cost-cutting thing as far as the main roster goes in these past few years, so unless WWE needs to cut some corners, I don't see them dropping several talents at once.
4. Thankfully it doesn't look like Joe is going to be punished for the accident. I really hope Tyson will turn out OK and this won't hurt either man's career.
5. TNA already has the next few weeks of shows taped, up until the final show of the month. So nothing we'll be seeing until then has anything to do with competing with ROH. It would be a gigantic waste of money and resources to re-tape these next episodes with new content just because ROH is on before them. As for the angle in question, I found it hilarious. I don't think I was supposed to, though. It certainly looks like they're building to Storm vs. Magnus at Slammiversary, so we'll see how that works out.
More wrestling tomorrow.
