Interviews with Maria/Adam Cole/Lashley/Jarrett/Ryback, more Dusty remembrances, live event notes, assorted notes, TNA and ROH audiences, Tough Enough note, NXT taping dark match, former TNA name to GFW?, and Questions on WCW PPVs, an NXT invasion, wrestlers mixing with politics, Sandow, and LeFort

Maria and Adam Cole talked ROH:
- The story at the time was that Maria wanted to do a fashion line. WWE wanted ownership of it, since they could argue it would be more successful because of Maria being on WWE TV. Needless to day, the two sides didn't come to an agreement on that.

- Since the business is a work, "winning" a title is just a sign of the company having faith in you to portray the role of champion, unless it's a "thank you" reign like a lifetime achievement award. That said, it's definitely impressive to have.

- I don't think they're actually in 57 million additional homes, as some of those homes already had ROH on local TV. It's definitely a big step up and into some new markets, though.

- There are definitely people who have wanted to see Cole go to WWE/NXT. It could still happen down the line.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Bobby Lashley touched on wrestling in an MMA interview. I wonder what his future holds in the wrestling world given his comments here. He's without a doubt one of the best performers in TNA.

Dustin Rhodes posted the eulogy he delivered for his father. I'm glad the family got to all work together in 2013.

Rolling Stone talked to Jeff Jarrett about GFW and TNA:
- I don't think he needs to worry about being competition to WWE anytime soon. First he needs to make it to the same league TNA and ROH are in. That might be enough of a challenge.

- I like the core concept of working WITH other promotions instead of against them. I don't know how realistic it is to be paired with an organization like ROH that already has a cable TV presence, but it's good to be able to use some of those talents for dark matches and live events.

- He's smart to not try to "out-WWE" WWE with stories. I think his idea has potential, but it's got to make it to TV to be competition.

- Somewhat surprisingly, he's right about the Bullet Club being the most talked-about faction in wrestling today. That's really impressive.

- I'm getting worried about a potential TV deal. They're doing a taping next month and don't have anything announced yet. What if they replace TNA!? That would definitely change the business.

Ryback was interviewed in Vegas. The Sin City Cyborg would be a good Matt Striker-esque nickname for him.

Tampa Bay Online looked at Dusty Rhodes' funeral. They lost a legend, for sure.

Tatsumi Fujinami has been added to WWE's live events in Japan. That's a good boost.

All episodes of Hulk Hogan's Rock N' Wrestling are now on the WWE Network.

WWE will be heading to Puerto Rico in late August. Great!

WWE has changed their July 3 card to feature Chris Jericho vs. Finn Balor and Neville vs. Kane. Poor Neville.

Impact Wrestling drew 347,000 in their first airing, and 102,000 in the replay. That's 449,000 viewers total. They've pretty much caught up to where they were on Fridays. Now they either need to go beyond that or attract more advertisers for the same audience.

ROH's TV show did 172,000 in its first airing, and 100,000 in the replay. That total is slightly down from the previous week. Notably, TNA widened the gap between its audience and ROH's. If that means anything to DA remains to be seen.

One of WWE's talent recruiters offered an additional opportunity for Mike Hayes to make it in WWE after he didn't make the cut for Tough Enough. That's good news for him.

EVOLVE's Johnny Gargano worked a dark match at the latest NXT tapings after recently being part of a tryout there. The speculation of WWE signing more indie names or pairing with WWNLive continues. I think it'd be great for both sides for the latter to happen.

Former TNA announcer Don West was spotted on GFW's Instagram page. I'd love to see him come aboard. He was a lot of fun in TNA.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. Starrcade '97 has the big Hogan/Sting match. Bash at the Beach '96 is the founding of the nWo. It might be best to search for a favorite wrestler and go from there.

2. I agree completely. While NXT definitely has some performers who are ready to work main roster names, I think they'd be ill-advised to try to debut a lot of them at one time. Remember that a lot of WWE fans don't know who any of the NXT names are, and it can take a good deal of TV time to introduce each of them. As much as I like NXT, I think there are only a handful of names on the male side who should be on the short-list to debut, and one of them is injured.

3. I believe Hogan announced he was running for president in the dying days of WCW. Other than that, I can't think of anyone to add.

4. Obviously he's been denied from breaking the glass ceiling for quite some time now. As far as I know, he's just someone they don't see anything in beyond where he is on the card now.

5. He returned at the most recent TV tapings. I don't want to spoil anything beyond that.

More wrestling tomorrow.
