Santana Garrett (formerly Brittany in TNA), Colt Cabana, Cherry Bomb, and Johnny Gargano are booked for upcoming GFW live events. It looks like GFW continues to test out their roster ahead of their TV tapings. I expect we'll see people rotate in and out when the company gets enough momentum to become a more stable entity.
For unknown reasons, it was reported by several entities that Awesome Kong and Taryn Terrell had negotiated their releases from TNA. Both talents, as well as TNA executive Bob Ryder, took to Twitter to deny this. Kong's contract runs through December, while Terrell's runs through next March. We'll see where things go in the months to come. They're two of the most-pushed acts in the company, so it would hurt to lose them.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I agree losing to Wyatt would hurt Roman's momentum, especially if he's supposed to main event at Summerslam. If being buried now means having PPV feuds with top stars like Cena, Ambrose, Taker, and now Reigns, I think a lot of people would love to be "buried." Not having traction doesn't mean the same thing as being buried, just like standing still doesn't mean the same thing as going 100 m.p.h. in the wrong direction. This kind of mentality from people who should know better leads to people's skewed perceptions of what's really going on. If Wyatt jobs to R-Truth clean next week and they turn his character into a janitor or something, then maybe I'll believe they're trying to bury him.
2. If they really wanted to give them something worth fighting for, they should have had a "winner gets to re-negotiate his TNA deal" stipulation. They could probably get at least a dozen participants for that.
3. Sure. Why wouldn't it be? They have to save some people for future years or they'll be inducting the cops who arrested Dean Ambrose by 2021.
4. They just painted the previous title green. So, not much expense there. And it's not like Dixie and Bob Ryder are sitting on millions of dollars and refusing to give it to people; they're not pulling in money like they used to. They're running fewer shows and their TV deals aren't as profitable as in the Spike days (which could very well get worse with them now getting dropped in Australia). It's the sad reality of their business downturn.
5. I don't see why not given his accomplishments. They're spacing inductees out so they don't run through everyone too soon. There are only so many names from bygone eras they can put in.
More wrestling tomorrow.
