More on Joe in WWE, match announced for Smackdown, more WWE.com content, another TNA conference call, Aries update, Impact in Canada note, Interviews with Jarrett/Goldberg/Raven, what happened after Raw, new NXT signings, Raw audience, DA promotion, TNA HoF note, Heyman update, guests at NXT live events, new merch, and Questions on Angle answering Cena's challenge, potential HoFers, a new era for WWE, Dixie trying to save TNA, and beating Lesnar

Samoa Joe will finish out his currently-booked independent dates before heading to WWE. This includes working ROH's TV taping on June 20. I would imagine WWE wouldn't be able to do business with Styles, Daniels, or Kazarian now that ROH is on TV, unless they just use those names for NXT live events. That's honestly not a bad idea. And who knows, maybe it would end up leading to something more?

Update: Joe is booked for some upcoming NXT live events, which is good.

Update: Joe will work his currently-booked dates only if he's not needed for a WWE show on the same date. If that happens, he'll be rescheduled. He's got a couple of independent dates booked in August, so he won't be completely a WWE guy for another few months.

Update: Joe is expected to remain in NXT for the time being. Honestly, with Zayn and Itami injured and Owens potentially leaving, that's probably the right move.

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Kevin Owens will have an NXT Championship open challenge on Smackdown. That should be fun.

WWE moved some of its app content to being exclusive to WWE.com (and presumably WWE's YouTube channel, etc.). I wish they'd move Big Show to being exclusive to WWE.com so I wouldn't have to see him as much.

TNA held another conference call with talent to brainstorm ways to connect with the audience and raise their profile. There's only so much that can be done on the talent's end. Sure, Drew Galloway can tweet that he's wrestling in TNA, but that's only going to reach people who are already following Galloway on Twitter. Similarly, the creative team can write the best shows ever. If no one knows about it because it's not advertised on other shows and channels (preferably with larger audiences), it's only going to matter so much.

I think they need to focus on what brought them to Spike in 2005. Sure, they had Sting as the big star to seal the deal for Spike, but they also had a passionate fanbase who were hungry for a WWE alternative. They grew into having a focus on women's wrestling and the X-Division that WWE didn't have. I think so many fans have been turned off by TNA for one reason or another they won't come back. And how many new fans can they get when they're just running in Orlando and on a channel not a ton of people get? They almost have to start building their audience and product from the ground up.

Austin Aries is believed to be contracted to at least work through Slammiversary. Whether he stays in TNA after that remains to be determined. WWE, ROH, and GFW better be keeping a close eye on his status.

TNA rescheduled Rockstar Spud's media appearances from last week. I hope he's got a solid future ahead of him.

Fight Network will air TNA's Greatest Matches as a lead-in to Impact Wrestling. I don't know if it will be new episodes or what's already aired on Destination America.

Jeff Jarrett talked about ROH going to DA, his role in GFW, and more. I'm ready for him to talk about a TV deal for GFW...

- I do think it's great for wrestling fans to have another option on a fairly large scale besides WWE and TNA. LU doesn't reach all that many homes.

- I liked Jarrett's definition of success. He's a smart guy.

- I think a lot of fans would be disappointed if there became the feeling of GFW just being a place for Jeff Jarrett to be the star performer and champion like the early years of TNA.

- Using Sonnen and/or Jarrett in matches for big shows could certainly get attention. Hopefully it will be primarily about the up-and-coming full-time wrestlers.

- Wrestling certainly seems to be on an upswing in some ways. I think it could take a few more years before things really hit another "boom period," though. Let's see how TNA, ROH, GFW, etc. do these next few years.

John Cena brought a fan fighting cancer into the ring after Raw. That's great for his and WWE's reputation.

WWE has signed two Indian talents, one of whom has already been champion in India. I hope they do well. WWE's looking to make that a bigger market alongside China.

Goldberg discussed trying to get involved with WM31 and more:
- If he didn't take himself so seriously and as such a big star, he probably could have been more successful in WWE and beyond. I can't blame him for accepting the role of beating "173" people in a row, but I definitely see why there's resentment at him coming through the ranks so quickly.

- I can only imagine what his parents thought of him becoming a pro wrestler given their acumen.

- I think him winning in dominant fashion definitely helped him get over better than trying to be a luchadore or technician. It doesn't make him an amazing wrestler, but he obviously didn't need to be to be a big hit.

- Goldberg was realistically never going to be as big of a deal as he was in WCW when he made it to WWE. The Streak had been over for years. WWE probably wanted him to pay his dues instead of pushing him all the way to the moon. He beat The Rock clean in his first match, though, so there's really not much reason to bitch.

- I don't know how much value there really is in one last Goldberg match. It's worth considering, but only if the price is right.

Raw's audience Monday was 3.97 million, a nice jump from the Memorial Day edition.

Destination America put out a press release putting over their two wrestling shows airing on Wednesdays. A lot of people are going to be looking at the audience for the two shows going forward. It could take a few weeks for audiences to migrate to the new night. In ROH's case, I expect things could heat up after their next iPPV on June 19.

Raven discussed the year 1996 in ECW in detail. These are usually pretty fun.
- I've heard that criticism of Taz before.

- Raven had to be hard to deal with at times.

- Raven had to go through a lot of therapy. I hope he's better now.

- Wrestling is definitely a team sport. Everyone has a part to play. If someone does terribly the first match, it's harder to get them back in later matches.

TNA made an offer to AJ Styles to be their newest Hall of Famer and work a match at Slammiversary more than a month back, but Styles turned them down due to his NJPW commitments. He wouldn't have been able to promote his work in other promotions in a TNA appearance. I give TNA props for reaching out to honor all he's done for them, but I can also see why Styles would want to do what's best for him. Jeff Hardy would follow the theme of past inductees, or the Hardy Boys as a team. Obviously Jeff Jarrett isn't happening. How about Ken Shamrock?

Paul Heyman will return to WWE TV after the MITB PPV. They've got to be using BROCK LESNAR at Summerslam, right?

Ric Flair has been added to NXT's live events later this month, presumably alongside Charlotte. Should be cool.

Zack Ryder might be added to upcoming NXT events, too. It looks like he'll be teaming with Mojo Rawley. At least they'll be using him!

WWE has released new merchandise for PTP and Kevin Owens. Hopefully they don't halt Owens' momentum at MITB.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. If TNA goes out of business or once Angle fulfills his contract, that'd be a great blast from the past. I don't know if it has any chance of happening, though. How many months would Cena need to be champion before it'd be any possibility? If I'm WWE, I think doing Cena vs. Angle one last time at WM32 would be pretty big. But right now, Angle's a TNA guy.

2. I think both would be great inductions. I don't know if WWE would induct two people who can't physically be there in the same year, but I'd like to think both will make it in someday.

3. I definitely don't think we'll see an "Attitude Era 2.0" as far as content goes, but I definitely think WWE has a lot of talent on the main roster and coming up through NXT to where they can really make something fantastic. Time will tell if they do.

4. They had a thoughtful answer here. I think it's natural to look to people who've had success in wrestling in the past to try to recreate their magic (how many people still want Cornette or Heyman to be booking?), especially given her relative inexperience in the business. As for Corgan, they've talked about the creative end of things on previous occasions and she trusts his vision in that regard. And as far as building a fanbase goes, I agree it's probably frustrating to not be able to be a major promotion at WWE's level after this many years of trying things.

5. The person who beats Lesnar clean definitely needs to be presented as a REALLY. BIG. DEAL. given how indestructible the Beast Incarnate has been. I don't think I'd have any complaints with Owens or Joe if they were pushed as monsters (like Brock was in 2002).

More wrestling tomorrow.
