TWA remembered, Kidd under the knife, Interview with first elimination/Jake Roberts, WWE in Japan note, Young upset, another former champion leaves TNA, Jarretts-TNA-GFW updates, matches for next ROH iPPV, New Day does a good deal, another match set for next week's Impact, TNA vs. ROH Week 4, NXT at Comic-Con, KOTM match filled out, Bruno health update, and Questions on the Jarretts returning, pushing the Bellas, NXT in NYC, and Too Cool in the HoF

The former promoter of Tri-State Wrestling Alliance talked about memories of that time. Some important names made their way through that territory.

Tyson Kidd's surgery was successful. That's good to hear. I hope he doesn't miss too much time.

The first contestant dropped from Tough Enough spoke. It was the pretty standard "I'm going to try to make it again" kind of stuff. We'll see.

WWE's July 4 special for the WWE Network will also air on TV in Japan. That should be a big show!

Everything else from yesterday is after the break.

Darren Young was upset about his partner's face being blurred on the Network show "Swerved," but later talked to WWE and smoothed things over. It was probably a case of WWE not having a signed release to show his image and them not wanting to be sued for using his likeness. It's a pretty common situation.

Jake Roberts remembered Dusty Rhodes. One great character talking about another.

Low Ki has announced his departure from TNA, effective immediately. His final match will air on the next episode of Impact. Nowadays it's more newsworthy when a talent decides to say in the promotion. Certainly a talented performer, but I can't say I'm surprised he's deciding to work elsewhere given the many times he's jumped from promotion to promotion. I'd love to see him have a Samoa Joe-like role in NXT, but I wouldn't assume that's a strong possibility given his last run in WWE.

The Jarretts' return to TNA was set up to give a main event to Slammiversary. It's also possible he gets put into the TNA Hall of Fame as part of the deal, as he should. Most TNA performers were kept in the dark about his return. They reportedly got along well with Dixie Carter.

Perhaps the biggest implication for the Jarretts working with TNA again is it allows TNA performers to work GFW shows. I'm assuming this might just apply to live events, but that's still a benefit for GFW and for the wrestlers. Any talk of TNA "merging" with GFW or Jeff buying TNA or anything of the sort are just rumors at this point, although that would obviously be a big deal.

Jim Ross blogged on the Jarretts' return to TNA and more. The upcoming weeks and months for Impact Wrestling could be really interesting if there is more between TNA and GFW.

Set for ROH Death by Dishonor on July 24:
- ROH World Championship: Jay Lethal vs. Roderick Strong
- ROH Tag Team Championship: The Addiction vs. War Machine vs. reDRagon vs. The Kingdom in a four corner survival match.
- ACH vs. Adam Page

I look forward to Lethal vs. Strong specifically. Strong's definitely someone who should be looked at by WWE, since he's apparently not under an ROH deal.

The New Day taped a message for a 92-year-old fan who couldn't make it to a live event. That's pretty cool.

The BDC vs. The Rising in a 4-on-3 handicap match has been set for next week's Impact Wrestling. Hernandez is more or less replacing Low Ki in the group following that episode. I assume Homicide is still technically part of the group, but he hasn't appeared in quite some time.

TNA brought in 369,000 viewers from their 9 p.m. airing, but they dropped to 82,000 for their replay.  Overall, they only jumped up 2,000 viewers from the previous week. Given how big of a deal the live show was and how much happened on it, that's got to be seen as a disappointment. It looks like no matter what happens, they're pretty much a lame duck on DA.

ROH brought in 185,000 for their 8 p.m. airing and 145,000 for the replay. That's their biggest audience to date by a comfortable margin, and it was just for ROH vs. NJPW matches taped before BITW. I don't know how much ad revenue they're bringing in vs. TNA, but the numbers aren't too far behind the more-established brand.

Some NXT superstars will be part of WWE's panel with Mattel at Comic-Con. The brand continues to gain prominence.

Joining Jeff Jarrett in the King of the Mountain match at Slammiversary are Eric Young, Bobby Roode, Matt Hardy, and Drew Galloway. No word on what's at stake. I like the idea of it being for a spot in the TNA Hall of Fame, with the induction happening at Bound For Glory. If worse comes to worst and they "go dark" again, they can turn the Sept. 17 live event into a taping of BFG and put the things to bed then.

Here's an update on the health of WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino. I hope he comes out strong.

For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. It looks like a mutually beneficial move for TNA and GFW. I'm glad they're able to work together.

2. I do think they're much better than they used to be as wrestlers, going back even further than when they just hung around guest hosts. But I also think the other factors mentioned give them an advantage.

3. It definitely seems like they'll be running in that area Summerslam weekend, given Triple H's recent tweet. That's great for the brand.

Nothing to add to 4.

5. I think the Hardys, Dudleys, and APA should go in before them. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't go in at some point, too.

More wrestling tomorrow.
