The current card for Sunday's Hell in a Cell PPV:
- WWE Divas' Championship: AJ Lee vs. Paige
- WWE United States Championship: Sheamus vs. The Miz
- WWE Tag Team Championship: Goldust and Stardust vs. The Usos
- Big Show vs. Rusev
- Loser becomes winner's personal assistant for a month: Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella
- Hell in a Cell: Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins
- Hell in a Cell to determine #1 Contendership for WWE Championship: John Cena vs. Randy Orton
Honestly, I think that's a pretty good card and well worth the $9.99 for the Network.
Notable wrestling name Douglas "Ox" Baker has passed away. His is a story that's often overlooked, which is a shame. He deserves a career retrospective and a HoF nod.
Update: WWE talked about his passing. Just look at that guy! He absolutely deserves more attention.
Everything else from yesterday is after the break.
Chris Jericho told the story of Kofi Kingston almost getting in a physical confrontation with Vince McMahon. I'd love to see a movie based on Vince behind-the-scenes. I wonder how many people would believe all the stories he's been involved in.
Lilian Garcia will return to Raw ring announcing, while Eden will return to that role for Smackdown. I miss Justin Roberts, but WWE has to move forward.
Hulk Hogan is booked for next week's Raw. Hopefully he'll be passing out to the Accolade or something actually useful for the current stars.
Former NWA Champion Adam Pearce is guest training at the WWE Performance Center this week. I wish we would have seen more of him on the big stage. Hopefully it's not too late.
Smackdown was at 2.69 million viewers this week. Meh. They're in kind of a slump lately.
WWE has updated their talent policies on matters such as domestic abuse. I can't blame them for taking that direction.
Jim Ross looked at the Undertaker/Mankind Hell in a Cell. I vaguely remember that PPV. I was just starting out watching at that time. It was insane, for sure.
For my take on yesterday's PWInsider.com questions:
1. I wonder if he could have gotten out of the deal to go work WWF, but didn't because he got guaranteed money to do absolutely nothing for WCW.
2. I definitely think the briefcase is higher on the totem pole than the IC Title. The latter has been watered down a lot and doesn't result in a push like it used to.
3. It's possible HHH and HBK knew they could make it to the top of WWF if they stuck around, while they might have to compete with Hogan, etc. in WCW. That's a good question, though. I guess by the time their contracts were up, they were happy with how they were pushed and decided to stay.
4. Cena's definitely the top guy of this generation, in a similar vein as Hogan, Austin, etc. Not at the same level, but certainly a legitimate draw. As for him not having wrestling ability, that's ludicrous. He might not be at Bret Hart's level, but he's a lot better than his detractors believe. I think it's just that he's pushed at such a high level.
5. I think JBL did something like that with Shawn Michaels a few years back. I personally really liked the angle, but apparently it wasn't one a lot of people online were fans of.
More wrestling tomorrow.
